“Lovely views and exploration”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

We stayed in the Miles loop of the campground in April 2013 and were pleasantly awarded with spectacular views of the water from sites 170 and 168 (the inside of the loop). Site 169, which was across from us, had a spectacular view, however we had small children and it has a drop-off down to the water. The sites were standard size, however the driveways were very short on this loop and made it difficult to fit 2 cars in them. The bathrooms were old, however they were regularly cleaned/stocked and the showers were hot. Our sites were close enough to the bathrooms for us to allow our 6 & 7 year old children to venture up alone and we could clearly see them from our sites. However we couldn't hear any typical bathroom noise at night and were not bothered by the lights from them. The playgrounds and hike to the lighthouse definitely make this a great family destination. Once they renovate the bathrooms, I would easily give this campground a 5 star rating.

“Nice camping and trails!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013 via mobile

We camped here in March and the camp loops were very nice. Clean, modern bathhouses that were easy to access from any campsite. Our favorite part of the bathhouse was the heat - it was very cold when we were there and it is hard to find camping with heated bathhouses in this area in March. The trails at the park are nice. Views from the lighthouse trail cannot be beat. Other trails throughout the park were also nice - well-marked, and through pretty woods. We plan to return soon!

“Beautiful Location truly at the top of the bay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

Nice little campground - awesome place to take my youngest for a quick over night get away - she can listen to the owls at night and look for deer during the day. It's not Yellowstone, but it's a nice place to get away from the I-95 corridor. This is the part of the Bay dominated by the rivers so do not expect to see/smell things you expect on the ocean. During the less busy times of the year it is a great place to see some birds and they have lots and lots of white tail deer. If you want a place with easy boat access and isn’t an overcrowded, paved KOA “campground”, this is the place.

“Nice walk, good birding”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2013

Took a walk to the lighthouse at the end of the trail. Great place to watch for hawks (we did not see any as we were near a group of loud teenagers). Nice path, great views at the point.

“Great spot for hiking and geocaching!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

We stopped by on a beautiful March day to see the park. We went all the way south to the lighthouse, snagging a few of the geocaches in that part of the park.
