“Lovely Country Inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

The Atlee House is a charming country inn with a historical background.

Our room, the Compass Suite, was spacious and very comfortable, with a huge modern soaking tub and a very comfortable bed.

Everything was impeccably clean, and the owners are warm, friendly and professional - they really go the extra mile to make you feel at home and very welcome.

Although we were not able to have breakfast, it smelled and looked excellent.

An excellent choice for Carroll County and we would definitely stay there again.

Very highly recommended.

Room Tip: All the rooms looked beautiful and comfortable. The Compass Suite offered two adjoining bedrooms and...

“Excellent B&B Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

We chose to stay at the Atlee House in New Windsor as our base for a relaxing getaway for exploring the Carroll County countryside and taking in an Orioles game at Camden Yards. We enjoyed our time there so much! Sam and Doris could not have been more attentive hosts, spending lots of time answering our questions about the locality and what it had to offer. We stayed in the Springhouse Room, and it was impeccably furnished. All sorts of nice touches were provided, including some very interesting Maryland reading and a generous supply of snacks. The bed was very comfortable, and our backs are hard to please! Breakfast was served with lovely presentation and the food was great, especially the biscuits and homemade preserves. We spent any available time on the front porch, enjoying the gardens, the birds, the fountain, and the peace. A weekend here is truly a weekend away.

“5 Stars aren't enough”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2009

My dad and I were taking a trip across the northern portion of Maryland, and wanted to stay somewhere between Havre de Grace and Cumberland. We found the perfect spot at the Atlee House in New Windsor. This beautiful home is smack in the middle of beautiful farm country. The town of Westminster is about 7 miles away. Our hosts, Sam and Doris, were two of the most genuine people I have ever met. They even made my dad feel comfortable, and that's not easy. The home was originally owned by the founder of the town. In fact, he is buried at the cemetery right up the street. We stayed in the Compass Suite, which is a beautiful two-bedroom suite. My room was luxurious with a high sleigh bed and tons of ornamental pillows. My dad's room had a double bed and was a bit more sedate in shades of blue. We arrived at 3:00, and had time to relax on the front porch and chat with the owners and fellow travelers. Sam and Doris explained how they came to own the house and how it became a bed and breakfast. Breakfast was a fun time relaxing with the other guests and passing around all the goodies...a bacon and egg casserole, biscuits and gravy, grits, fruit. We hated to leave, but all good things must come to an end, Given the chance, I would definitely stay at the Atlee House again.
