“"a great lake front inn"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2007

This was our second trip to the Lake Point Inn, and things
have gotten even better. The amenties provided here far
exceed any other inn or bed and breakfast that we have
visited. Wine, beer, soft drinks and juice are stocked in
hallway refrigerators. There are chocolate chip cookies,
banana bread, fresh fruit and popcorn available all day.
There are appetizers served in the evening followed by a
boat ride around the lake. We enjoyed the use of the kayaks
and canoes plus the lovely dock for sunning or fishing. A special touch is the evening sherry and chocolates set out when
you return from dinner.
The location is convenient to Wisp, and while in a housing
plan there is enough property around the Inn that you don't feel
crowded in. The Inn is truly lakefront.
The Staff was helpful and friendly and were available during
the day and early evening. The rooms are nicely appointed
with comfy bedding and flat screen televisions. Our room
had a great view of the lake. We definitely plan to return to this
lovely inn.

What a pleasant experience! The Inn is located right on Deep Creek Lake and the views of the lake and the surrounding area are magnificent. My wife and I arrived on a Sunday afternoon and were immediately greeted in a very pleasant manner. We received a tour of the Inn and were then taken to our lovely room. There are complementary soft drinks, beer and wine available throughout the day. Snacks and wine are served at 5 p.m. and can be enjoyed on the spacious deck or on the patio. Sherry and cookies can also be enjoyed in the evening. The inn provides canoes and kayaks for the guests and there is a pontoon boat ride every evening. All the rooms have a TV and DVD player and the inn’s library has a vast selection of DVDs.

The diverse breakfasts are excellent and are served in a very gracious manner by a smiling employee, who also helped create this repast. After breakfast we relaxed in our room for a couple of hours and then left to see some of the many sights in the area, from white water rafting to seeing a glass blowing factory, but we made sure that we returned in time for the evening wine.

The Inn has 10 guests rooms and a very nice touch is that each room has its own parking space. The are plenty of restaurants in the area and the inn provides a location description for each one.

The one downside happened on the last morning. The breakfast was supposed to have a Southwestern theme, but one of the items on the plate was a glob of a soft brown mass that, although it was certainly not what it looked like, was enough of a turn-off that my wife could not eat any of the food that morning. But that minor incident was overridden by all the outstanding, pleasant experiences of the 3 days of our stay.

We will certainly return.

We spent two nights at Lake Pointe Inn and it was absolutely the best! We were celebrating our 33rd anniversary and it could not have been any more perfect. The innkeeper and staff go out of their way to be helpful and are very friendly and accomodating. We especially liked the fact you could use the kayaks or canoes right from the edge of the dock on the property and did not have to leave and go elsewhere. The evening pontoon ride is so relaxing and the captain gives a nice overview of the area. In the evening, you can sit outside by a nice fire and roast marshmallows while wrapped in the warm blankets provided by the inn. Sitting on the front porch in a comfy rocker while sipping your morning coffee or tea is wonderful! There are always plenty of snacks and freshly-baked cookies or fruit sitting out. You can help yourself to beverages in the mini-fridge on your floor. All this is included in the room price which is a big bonus. The rooms are immaculate and provide every amenity. The jacuzzi tub and gas fireplace provide a nice touch to the rooms, along with down pillows and comforters. We love the mission-style decor of this inn as it is so warm and cozy. They have definitely thought of everything and go out of their way to provide guests with a wonderful, relaxing getaway. We would love to go back and highly recommend this B&B to any discriminating traveler!

The inn is situated directly on the water, although it has a very small property and is sandwiched between vacation homes. The rooms are wonderful, tastefully decorated with premium amenities such as a bose stereo, flat screen tv, premium linens and towels. A had a stone
massage and it was one of the better massages I have had. Beverages, alcohalic and non, are available around the clock, as well as snacks.
The full breakfast was above average, but I am an extreme foodie. Which brings me to the downside of the area, the food is terrible. With the exception of Canoe on the Run, which serves inventive sandwiches and soups, the dining is awful. If food is not a top priority, I would recommend staying at Lake Pointe.

My husband and I stayed at Lake Pointe Inn for two nights in April as a weekend getaway for our anniversary. This bed and breakfast is lovely. We stayed here in 2000 and loved it so much then we wanted to return. They have recently made some additions to the Inn which only made it better.

We stayed in the Buffalo Marsh room and it was wonderful. The room had a separated sitting area with a flat screen, gas fireplace, love seat, chairs, desk, sink/bar area, bose stereo with a plug in for Ipods/MP3 players. The bathroom was wonderful - with a soaking jacuzzi tub (large enough for two) and a separate steam-shower. The Inn also provides robes and slippers. The bed was extremely comfortable with high quality linens. The decor is craftsman.

The building itself is older (but does not show this in appearance or decor) and sounds tend to travel. We could hear the couple above moving around the room and occassionally people in the hallway. However, the Inn asks all guests to respect quiet time (11 pm - 7 am) and this did not bother us. One might also be somewhat taken aback because the Inn sits in the middle of a housing development. However, once you are inside the Inn, that melts away and is easily forgotten.

The Inn has thought of and provides all the details and comforts of home... they have toothpaste, mouthwash, medicines, etc. available if you forgot any of that. They have a wonderful DVD library which guests can check out movies. They have cards, board games, boce ball, crouquet, canoes, bikes (even helmets). They have books, magazines, local newspapers, menus of the area restaurants, maps of the area, tourist brochures, movie schedules, etc. Drinks (warm, cold, alcholic) are available to guests all day. A delicious full breakfast is offered in the mornings (a bit early 8:30 - 9:30 if you like to sleep in), chocholate chip cookies and fruit are available all day. In the evening sherry, wine and hor douves are served from 5 - 6. There is even chocholate mints set out in the evening along with the fixings for toasting marshmellows in their many fireplaces (outside, inside main gathering room, in your room). All of these ammenities are complementary!!!!

We loved our stay here and highly recommend it! My husband's only complaint was "The coffee is so good here... they need bigger mugs for it." He had three refills of the coffee with breakfast.

  • Liked — The nice extra touches and thoughtful ammenities and the great room/space
  • Disliked — The walls were a bit thin and the development around the Inn

We came here for three nights to ski a bit and poke around Western Maryland. We were out during the day and in the evening the inn had enough to keep you busy. The rooms and public areas are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The fire in the parlor was lit every evening at happy hour (sherry, wine, beer and hot apps provided). There was a selection of games and the DVD library had a good mix of the latest releases and classics. You could watch movies in your room or in the library, both being on wall-mounted flat screen tvs (microwave popcorn available too). Wisp ski resort is right across the street. Nice massage room, sauna and steam shower on the third floor. Snacks and beverages are available all day long. Breakfasts ranged from good to excellent. Lots of little touches in the rooms made them elegant. High quality bed and bedding, Bose Cd player, the spa tub in our room fit two easily and had bath salts and a rubber ducky. The gas fireplace heated up the room quickly. The only negatives: snow was not cleared from the steps to the main entrance or on the porch. Going in and out was a bit treacherous, especially with luggage and you couldn’t enjoy the view of the lake. The rooms could also do with some soundproofing. Conversations in the hall sounded like they were in your room. Footsteps on the floor above were quite audible. Nevertheless, we look forward to coming back for a visit in spring to use the bikes and canoe.

This place has all the perks. I wasn't sure what the nightly rate would get us, but there is so much do to! The Inn is right on the lake so you can take out rafts or kayaks and fish. They also keep you very well fed with heavy appetizers in the evenings and a generous breakfast -- plus s'mores by the fire at night. There are lots of other activities like a whole multi-media room and outdoor games such as croquet. We would definitely like to return.
