The rooms décor, the view, the Fire place were perfect... the bed however was HORRIBLE!!!! it had a huge sink in it which caused us to roll towards the middle of the bed, it just seemed like to much of an inconvenience to pack up all of my things and request a move, but my back is still aching. I mentioned it to the staff and she was very apologetic and stated that she would make a not of it, room # 204. The upgrades to the room are amazing, sooo cute and quaint GOOD JOB!!!!. The heater leave a little to be desired as although it has a numbered knob to indicate the desired level, low to high.. it seemed to only work on high... and it kicked out some real heat. but hey better warm than freezing I guess... the staff, I can not say enough... the ladies were GREAT!!!!!!!!!!! I showed interest in the 3br suite and they took us right up and let us have a look around and it was BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...I will be booking a stay there very, very soon. The ladies on staff really care about what they do and the customers perception. CUDOS!!!!! they are one of the main reasons I will be returning. Additionally, they even invited us to partake in some chili that one of them brought in for a group lunch, amazing we felt so welcomed and comfortable. If you want a quick cozy get away on a beautiful lake.. LakeStar Lodge it is....

Room Tip: I stayed in the Queen room w/ fire place.. log included.

I bought a groupon to stay at LakeStar Lodge for the weekend with my husband. I never heard of Deep Creek Lake but was very pleased with our stay. The views of the lake along with the views of the slopes were beautiful. I paid for a room with a fireplace and this definitely set the ambiance for our romantic weekend getaway. Our room was very clean and the renovations are very nice. We weren't able to go snow tubing or ice skating as planned due to it raining the entire weekend but we were okay with spending a nice, tranquil weekend in our room with our lake views. I will definitely visit LakeStar Lodge again!!

My husband and I stayed here on vacation (11/28/2014-11/30/2014) while at Deep Creek Lake. We stayed in a king size room on the first floor that was pet friendly.

Pros: Great location right on the water. Great views of the lake and Wisp. Nice decor. Pet friendly. Ability to walk right out on the lawn. Friendly staff.

Cons: Hardly any parking. Wi-fi doesn't work well (I was told that this was due to the fact that a lot of people were using it at the same time; I understand this can happen but the hotel is really small and wasn't totally booked, they should be able to get wi-fi that works better). No real place to put your clothes away (TV stand has shelves and a cabinet; should've had a dresser instead) and no luggage stand to rest your luggage on. Place to hang your clothes is very small and not very functional.

We stayed for two nights. Staff were very accommodating since we came checked in quite late. Although there wasn't a lot to do due to the warmer weather it was a wonderful place. The renovations are nice and the fireplace made things very cozy. Spoiler alert: DON'T burn real wood. It is not allowed (we didn't know). If your interested in relaxing and breathing nice clean crisp air this is a great spot.

Room Tip: If your looking for really cozy pick a 2nd floor room with the fireplace. It looked like all the 2n...

Great place with great views of the slopes and right on the water! Fireplace was a nice touch for November! Front desk girl Andy was very sweet and so helpful! Got a deal with groupon and it was a perfect weekend getaway for our anniversary! Will definately stay there again!

Pros: Modern bathroom fixtures, very clean.

Possibly the most efficient heater I've ever seen in my life. You could run that thing for 20 minutes and be fine for the night.

The view from our room was great- perfect view of the ski slopes at Wisp and the lake's shore.

Blinds were very modern, with in-glass Venetian blinds on our back door.

Deck was excellent for a late evening cigarette with your bird.

Kitchen in the lobby had free keurig coffee and tea, some snack bars, plates, cutlery, pots and pans.

Staff was friendly and unintrusive. Cleaning staff eager to help out, front desk staff lent me an ice scraper for my car.

Bedding was clean, mattress was very comfy.

Ten minute walk to grocery store + Perkins + this weird trading store where they sold bear figurines and buck knives, two minute drive.

About ten minutes from the movie theater too.

Really close to the ski slopes, right on the lake.

Cons:
Heater was in kind of a weird spot for our room, right next to the fridge.

TV has only two volume settings: incomprehensibly quiet and old person watching tv loud. But we weren't really there to watch tv, so, no big deal.

Bedframe has a big gap where the bed meets the wall so your pillows keep getting pushed in between the bed and wall.

Desk chair was really top heavy and prone to tipping over. (Who cares right)

Overall: this place was great for the price. We had a great time.
We were snowed in and had a few harrowing driving experiences, but if you're hoping to get away from the world for a little while, Lakestar's a good choice.

This was our second time staying at the LakeStar. It's a good location. Not best view of the lake, but not bad. Convenience store with Burger King right across the street. Within walking distance to a couple of decent restaurants. For the price it's defiantly a great deal. If on the second floor stay in room numbers higher then lower. The lower ones will be in front of a tree blocking the view of the lake. We stayed in 205

Room Tip: If staying on the 2nd floor stay in higher rather then lower number rooms. Lower number rooms view w...
