My husband and I only get one weekend a month to ourselves, due to bi-weekly visitations with his children and his job, so I decided to book us an overnight get-a-way. Being it was spur of the moment, obviously I didn't want to pay a great deal of $, but wanted to also stay in decent accommodations. I was pleased with Lakestar Lodge. First, because they would accommodate an overnight stay and didn't require a two night minimum. Secondly, because they were affordably priced, for the area. They are under new ownership and are undergoing renovations, which was advised on their website, so there were no surprises, when we arrived for check-in. The owners were very warm and friendly and the accommodations, while a little outdated (which is the cause of the renovation) were still very acceptable and clean. Even for a rainy, dreary weekend, we still had a beautiful view of the lake and enjoyed our overnight stay very much. We got a sneak peak of a room they'd begun renovations on and were even asked for our input and we're excited to return again, for another stay, in the future, once the renovations are complete, because it looked as though they have a good vision and the rooms will be beautifully situated/appointed.
