I was initially dismayed that my wife booked us at an "airport hotel" while in Maryland for a trip to a high school lacrosse tournament; but when we checked in I realized the Westin BWI was a great find! Opened within last 12 months, Zen atmosphere, spotless, totally up to date, committed to service, terrific experience and great location. The rooms are wonderful with flat screen HD/TV, movies, beautiful furnishing, and Westin's wonder beds. Totally smoke free hotel. Very quiet setting, and very classy operation from top to bottom. If you can get government rates, you will be very pleased with the price. BWI is surrounded by Hotels, and we think it is clearly the best of the bunch.
We traveled to Towson, Annapolis, Owings Mills, and Inner Harbor of Baltimore effortlessly by rented car; the location is quite central to what we needed to do. The hotel shuttle took us happily to dinner each night at area restaurants in nearby town, and would have done anything for us. Light rail was nearby and the shuttle will drop you and pick you up, so a car becomes somewhat superfluous. The in house restaurant, Luminous, was a wonder of Asian Fusion cuisine; some of the most delicious food I ever had.; and the room service food was delicious, creative, and reasonable for room service. The hotel has a very nice, brand new exercise facility, indoor pool and hot tub. The staff was so accomodating we hated to leave.

This is the best airport hotel I have ever stayed at. It is brand new and gorgeous. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious (as expected from a Westin). It is two miles from the airport, but not close to much else except other airport hotels. If only I could find more city hotels like this!

What I like about the hotel:
- Beautiful, modern room decor and very comfortable beds.
- Thick comfy bathrobes.
- Front desk personnel very helpful and courteous
- Hotel express service very fast. Took minutes before extra bathrobes and toiletries were delivered.

Negatives:
- Found hair in bath tub.
- Hotel couldn't find my reservation even though I made it weeks before using the Westin website and had the confirmation number.

Do I recommend it? Yes! The positives outweigh the negatives. :)

Stayed the weekend here and got a great rate. Location opened in late 2007, so everything is new. Upscale bedding and towels. The best room-darkening drapes ever, so set your alarm! Thick robes provided although our king room had only one in the closet. Round the clock shuttle service to local restaurants and to the light rail. We use the light rail to get to the inner harbor: so no parking issues or traffic issues. And a $104 a night, this location was less than 1/3 of the equivalent inner harbor hotels. They have most things you need in the room- hair dyer, iron and ironing board, bottled water. Strangely, they charge for wireless internet service when just about everyone offers it free.
