This review is written by a business traveler who frequents Marriot and Hilton-chain hotels. This review is based on a 2-night stay in October 2007.
This hotel far exceeeds the typical TownePlace Suites hotel (which is usually at the bottom of the Marriott line of hotels), and in fact, I would choose this over most full-Marriotts. I wish my own home looked like this - I am ready to move into this hotel! :)
This review is based on a night stay in a 1-bedroom suite and a night stay in a 2-bedroom suite.
Pros:
- brand new hotel (built in April 2007).
- great attention to details around the facility: complimentary breakfasts utilize durable, expensive, dispoable cutlery and plates and cups. Rooms feature solid, expensive / upscale doors, mid-high-end lever door handles, great workmanship / finish, great choices of tile in the entry and bathrooms, same to be said for marble countertops in the kitchenettes and bathrooms, shaker-style cabinets, stanless-steel-accented appliances, countertop cooking ranges (larger suites have apartment-sized stoves), etc.
- 40" LG LCD TVs with satilite channels in every living room and bedroom.
- spacious bathrooms with expensive panasonic light / fans.
- great mirrors, lighting, tables, and drawers.
- earth tone / neutral colour schemes; everything tastefully decorated.
- wired (100 Mbs high and super-high speeds available) and 56 Mbs wireless Internet.
- decent complimentary continental breakfast.
- nice evening receptions (i.e. lite dinners and desserts) for guests.
- classy chess and checker sets (made of glass?) built into tables in the front lobby lounge.
- great service from the staff.
Opportunities for improvement:
- elevators are so to close and move (but at least are quiet).
- floors are not as noise-proof as one woudl like (easy to hear tenents in floors above).
