“Service details lacking”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Recently we booked one night at this hotel to have a little more sleep before our morning flight from BWI. Room was clean, but no toilet paper roll. Phoned desk and within 15 minutes a replacement arrived. HBO guide was for March, but it was April! Quick dinner, unfriendly hostess, but a nice waitress, food was good. Morning breakfast buffet was another story :watery eggs, overcooked very greasy bacon and sausage, too dark toast, and just fair coffee. Front desk misinformed us about shuttle departure, luckily we caught the next one and were still on time for flight. Often we stay at Hampton Inns, less money, but better breakfast. We won't stay there again.

Room Tip: There was a large convention, so it was a little noisy on the second floor.

I stayed at the Hilton BWI Hotel about two weeks ago. I liked the hotel, it was very quiet and peaceful. The front desk was very warm, friendly, and helpful with my issue but I couldn't help but notice that they were standing behind the desk. I had an issue that needed immediate attention and although they were able to assist me with no problem, my issue took a while to be fixed and they were standing the whole time. I think that it is extremely mean and inhumane to have the front desk stand their whole work day. The Hilton is a Billion Dollar name/company, surely they can afford chairs or stools for their staff. I'm sure that the staff will still be able to do their jobs as efficiently sitting down as they do standing. They may even do it better! It was disturbing to watch them try to accommodate everyone, be warm and friendly, and keep a smile on their faces, knowing that they've been under those conditions for so many hours. They are not security officers, invest in chairs Hilton.

Room Tip: All rooms are nice

Due to the exceptional service, follow-up and resolution to a minor issue by front desk staff member Justin this stay was a very positive, I was really impressed by his professional and dedication to the Hilton Brand. Justin delivered excellent customer service and provided guidance in regards to attractions. It is staff like Justin that help make the brand.

Yolanda at the front desk went above and beyond for my son and the other servicemen who were staying at the hotel for their last night before being deployed. I can not tell you the level of stress she helped decrease for them and for the families there to support them.

Poor attitude from service desk when requesting toothpaste. They did not have a complimentary toiletry package nor offered for sale in their hotel store the item that I desperately needed to start my day-toothpaste

All of the staff that I encountered at the hotel seemed to be quite friendly and accommodating. Front Desk was very friendly and assisted me on numerous occasions. Also, a shout out to Alma in the executive lounge whom took very good care of me during my overnight stay. She seems to know her regulars and was welcoming to a new comer.

That said, the room that I was given was a bit underwhelming for a Hilton. The lobby and public areas were nice, but the room seemed to smell of smoke, despite supposedly being a non-smoking room. Bathroom was not the greatest setup, being small and only a shower stall that seemed to leak out quite a bit.

Perhaps with a bit of a make-over, or a little TLC, the facility could meet up to the service level. I would return, but would be contingent on price as their are other options in the area. On this evening, the price was definitely a good value.

The hotel is very convenient to both BWI Airport and really quite close to I-95 so not too far from downtown Baltimore. The reception area is quite large - a very well designed space that blends into the bar/restaurant space, all of which looks very welcoming. The rooms are standard Hilton fare - the lighting could be brighter in the room - comfy beds and although I looked out over the airport, I did not notice much noise. The bathroom is looking a bit tired. It is a shower only but the tile is quite stained.

What makes this place so good is the can-do attitude of the folks who work here. In particular, the woman who was attending to the executive lounge. (She said she was filling in for a colleague who had a death in the family so unfortunately for you, she won't be there if you go up to the lounge.) I am so sorry I have misplaced her name but while the offering was nothing special and the space is quite tiny, she treated everyone as if they were a guest in her home! What a delight and just such a warm welcome for everyone who no doubt had a long day before coming up for a bit of relaxation! That alone makes this hotel worth another visit next time I am in the area.

Dear Cujo31,

Thank you for staying with us on your recent trip to Baltimore. It is wonderful to hear you enjoyed the hostess and the offerings in the lounge as those ladies work hard and enjoy helping our guests. We look forward to your return
