“Comfortable Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

The rooms were recently renovated and were very nice. The only thing that still needs updating is the heating/cooling system, which was a bit loud and not digitally-controlled. But I was happy for it as white noise since my neighbors had to be asked to pipe down at midnight.

The breakfast had some good options like waffles, scrambled eggs & sausage, yogurt and pastries.

My room was very clean when I checked in and the staff were friendly. The bed and pillows were great.

Dear LG1837,

Thank for taking the time to write a review about your stay with us. Guest feedback is always very important as it helps us know what aspects of our operations we are doing well and what we can and should improve on.

I am very sorry that those guests in the room next to you were noisy. I will make sure that I address this with our night staff to make sure that no guests are ruining other guests’ stays.

While we did undergo the renovation some items are being gradually being replaced. We are getting new AC units in the coming months that are more efficient, energy star rated and most of all not as noisy as those that we have currently.

The Fairfield Inn brand has recently updated the breakfast menu options and I am very happy to hear that the new additions have enhanced the breakfast experience.

Staff service is always very important and that we treated your like the valuable guest that you are is one of the reasons that makes a hotel a home away from home.

Once again, thank you for your business and for writing a candid review about your stay with us.

Regards

Dear Nanny10992

On behalf of the staff here at the Fairfield Inn Laurel, thank you for taking the time to write a review of your recent stay us.

For business I look for surrounding places to the hotel.
So, up the street is a driving range,
plenty of restaurants nearby, even a bunch in walking distance,
Costco down the street,
mall up the street,
and the rooms are all right!

Oh yeah, there is a Cold Stone Creamy next door for the dessert freaks!

Room Tip: rooms away from the front desk are quieter, if that is necessary for you.

Always try and stay close to seafood restaurant in Glen Burnie. The young lady at the front desk Ms. C. Williams was an excellent example of customer service. She went out of her way to accommodate myself and two other relatives. The staff was courteous and very pleasant, from the cleaning crew to the breakfast servers. Breakifast quality was excellent and healthy. I also had the misfortune to forget a prescription and MS William made sure I got it overnite express. Yet another fine example of the service I find standard when staying at Marriot's, from Florida to California. No doubt I will stay there next summer on my way to OC MD.

We have stayed at the Fairfield in Laurel quite a few times. It was an adequate hotel, with a friendly staff and a good location. Now the hotel is being updated. The rooms are fresh and updated, with a better decor and not as tired as before. The construction in the lobby interfered with the breakfast service but it was still good. I'm sure the hotel will be all put back together soon.

Room Tip: Rooms towards the back (away from Route 1) are quieter.

Amyamelia-

Thank you for not only being repeat customer but for taking the time to write a candid review about our property.

We are pleased with how the rooms are coming along and the new color scheme really brightens the rooms. The construction is in the last stages and should be done by the close of this month (April 2013). We also cannot wait to start serving our guests the new hot Fairfield Inn breakfast menu.

On behalf of the staff here, thank you for your compliment, our aim is to be a clean and friendly hotel and I am happy to hear that our staff treated you as the valuable guest that you are.

We look forward to hosting you again when you return to the Laurel area.

We stayed here while traveling through the area. The front desk was friendly and efficient despite the late hour. The hotel is definitely under construction (clearly stated on their website) which takes away from the total experience but it was something we could live with. The room was recently renovated, very clean and better than expected at first impression. The breakfast was simple but got us on the road the next morning. We did not have time to check out any facilities but until construction is complete I wouldn't expect much. For the price paid, we had a good, clean room in a safe neighborhood and experienced no problems. Once everything is completed, this will probably be a very nice place to stay. There are many stores in the area for anything you might need.

Dear Cathy-

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of both your stay and our hotel. We are pleased we met and exceeded your expectations.
This renovation has been long over due and we are happy with the new product. Once the renovation is complete we shall have an exercise room with cardio equipment and free weights. We shall also be adding the new Fairfield Inn hot breakfast once the eating area construction is complete.
Once again Cathy, thank you for your business and taking the time to review our hotel.

We stayed here while heading home from a road trip. We were tired and have another 6 hours of driving and decided to stay over in Laurel. All the other hotels were booked and we had to stay here. I've never stayed at a Fairfield Inn and probably will never stay at another one. You don't expect the Ritz when you stay at a Fairfield Inn and it wasn't. It was just as I expected - boring, dark and small and just clean enough. The weird thing was that the room smelled like it had just been painted - like within hours of us checking in. I think they're renovating. My advice here is don't stay in Laurel. There is nothing there. I think the Univ of Maryland is nearby, Other than that I don't why anyone would be staying in this area. Just don't. Try Columbia or SIlver Springs. The guy at the front desk was nice.

Dear Zoey-

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about our hotel. On behalf of the staff we appreciate the feedback from our guests. This feedback enables improve where we come up short and maintain what we are doing right.

As you mentioned, we are undergoing a renovation that should be complete in April 2013. We are happy about the new product and hope if you are in the area you shall give the hotel another chance.

While the town itself is more of a living community there are places in the area that are worth a visit. We shall make sure our desk has a tourist guide at the desk.
Once again, thank for staying with us and writing a review about your stay.
