Summary:
Our family stayed here for a week as temp lodging whilst we were waiting for our removal due to my work transfer. Family consisted of 2 adults and two children (10 and 12). Place is very clean. Hosts are fantastic. Location is very handy to central Charles County. More like a home away from home. Very Highly Recommended.

Detailed:
This B&B is situated a couple of miles from the township of La Plata on about 10 acres or so on Port Tobacco RD. The B&B has the main house which contains a couple of rooms; however we stayed in the Carriage House (which contains two separate apartments). We stayed in the second floor apartment and I would describe it more like a self contained apartment.

Our accommodation comprised of a good size bedroom (with TV) , laundry (washer and dryer), bathroom (with a bath), Mid size kitchen (with breakfast bar and fully appointed) and lounge room with LCD TV. All of the TVs had Cable. The WIFI was extremely fast and best of all free to use. AC kept the place nice and cool. Sofa Bed in the lounge room wasn't the best, but discussed this with the host and he said he would rectify the situation.

We didn't take advantage of the breakfast as we were self contained.

There was a in-ground pool which was exceptionally well kept, as was the yard. There is several umbrellas and deck chairs around the pool and clean beach towels are provided. The property has a beautiful view to surrounding properties.

Henry and Lynn are very accommodating host. They couldn't do enough for us, yet were not intrusive. The place is very clean and they provide a lot of incidentals such as washing powder etc. They are both a wealth of information and I had many enjoyable yarns with Henry.

I would highly recommend the carriage house for Geo Bachelors. It is very handy to Indian Head Naval Base and is private and big enough for a pro long stay.

My mother, my husband and I spend one night here after searching endlessly for a nice accommodation near Banks O'Dee in Southern Maryland. We had 2 rooms - very nice rooms and the place has an outdoor swimming pool. Grounds are beautifully landscaped and it was a 10 minute drive from my company's picnic venue. This B&B is really nice - the hosts were very friendly and we exchanged a lot of 'vacation stories. If you need accommodations in the LaPlata or Port Tobacco or Banks O'Dee or Dahlgren, VA area (301 bridge that connects Southern, MD and VA), this is the place to stay if you want the personalize service and atmosphere of a home away from home. The breakfast the following day was really yummy. Also, note that there are not a lot of lodging choices in the neighborhood. We tried HI Express in Dahlgren and they were sold out that weekend. I was pleasantly delighted with what we found. I highly recommend the place. They only have 3 rooms in the main house and they have a carriage house next door that can probably hold an entire family. If you have time to tour Thomas Stone's house - one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, this is worth visiting. It is only a few minutes from the Part of Plenty B&B.
