“Great Getaway Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2011 via mobile

My wife and I chose this location initially for the close proximity to Antietam and Harper's Ferry. We were very happy with the overall experience, room, breakfast and friendliness of staff. We fully expect to return in the coming year.

We had a quiet stay, and Michelle and Tina were very hospitable. Breakfast was great, and they were very nice about accommodating my food allergies. Everything was clean in our room (Garden View) and the common areas. The complimentary beverages and coffee station were very welcomed. We loved having drink options and microwave popcorn available at night.

We were given fresh towels, and our room was even tidied up while we were there. Breakfast took a while and began after 9 AM, which we didn't mind. But other guests we ate with remarked they thought this was too late for people with early and busy vacation itineraries. We enjoyed all three courses.

I will say that the wi-fi was not working. It sounds like service is spotty even while functioning, but it was not up and available while we were there. If you need to conduct importance business via blackberry or laptop, take caution. We couldn't check the weather. I do echo others' comments that they should upgrade the wi-fi.

This place was fabulous and we would definitely go back. Some of the older reviews talk about the place being shoddy, but certainly that was not the case when we were there; everything was clean, spiffed up and proper. Yes, the shower was kind of a let down - a built in unit - but we had a bathtub in the bedroom, and anyway how much time do you spend in the shower? The one thing I would say is about the breakfast; the quality was excellent, but it wasn't enough food. Still, that was a minor detail. The place is definitely not cheap, but it is worth it. There is even free liquor in the sitting room.

A group of friends and I just recently stayed at Antietam Overlook Farm for a wedding and on our first day we had already committed to going back! From the minute we started planning our trip, Michelle, the innkeeper, could not have been more accommodating or friendly. We were a large, somewhat excitable group (9 friends who have not seen each other in months) and they took care of our every need. From helping us arrange for friends arriving at different days and times (one couple arrived at 1:30am) to allowing us to have the wedding party get ready in the main room of the Inn, we could not have asked for a better weekend! Tina was a wonderful help in the morning, helping all of us with much needed coffee, water, juice, etc...and then providing us with delicious food each morning! Mark, the owner, joined us for breakfast, and definitely made us feel incredibly welcome and more like we were at a friend's home rather than a B&B...wonderful, can't say enough about this great inn and again-we will all be going back!!!

THANK YOU MICHELLE, TINA and MARK-you really made our weekend!!

Not only was the Inn itself amazing but the people who run it are as well. The staff could not have been more accommodating. The food was outstanding and the property itself was magical.

Michelle, Tina and Mark made a weekend with friends a magical experience.
