Consistently excellent. Great food, diverse menu, good music and service. Servers are attentive and flexible. All around great place to meet and eat.

“Best Local Restaurant, maybe best in Harford county”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

I have been here twice, I live about 2 blocks away so it a nice short walk to downtown Havre de Grace to eat there at Laurrapin. Both meals were delicious, ordered goulash for Octoberfest one time and Argentine pot roast the second visit. The presentation of the food is first class and so is the combinations of fresh ingredients and flavors. It is kind of pricey, that is my only caveat! But it is well worth it if you want an interesting and delicious meal in a comfortable atmosphere.
I would call the style of the restaurant, Nouveax American as there menu is eclectic and wonderful!

“Surprise find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

While traveling home from vacation, we asked a local for a dinner recommendation. This place was great! As mentioned in another review, it did have a bit of a bar feel, but we were seated in the back and it was quieter. We even had a view of the river. Not the type of place I would bring young children simply because it seems more of an adult place. Food was excellent. Only drawback was the server. She was positive, friendly & helpful, but when asked for a fork (mine were taken away with the appetizer-a pretzel covered with crab and cheese -- absolutely delicious!) the waitress took another table's order. This took at least 4-5 minutes, meanwhile my food got cold. She could have gotten the fork from the table next to theirs, which I almost did. Other than that, this place was fabulous. Can't wait to travel back to that area just to have lunch or dinner.

“Good food, crowded atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

We were very much looking forward to our dinner here, after hearing all the great reviews. The food was indeed delicious, but the atmosphere was not our thing. It had more of a feel of a bar than of a restaurant you'd want to linger in over your meal. We were put in a middle room between the bar and the "quieter" back part of the restaurant, so maybe it would have been better back there. Tables sort of crammed in together in the little room we were in. Service was spotty; sometimes quick and then other times we didn't see wait staff for a while. Was a Thursday night and place was hopping. Very loud buzz, if you like that sort of thing. We got shrimp n grits, and the mac n cheese; both were very rich and tasty. Enjoyed the cornbread and sundried tomato focaccia w/garlic white bean dip. Caesar salad portion was generous, for a side salad. Also got the recommended banana dessert; a winner. Lots of other things on the menu that looked great, and the dishes folks got around us (since place was small, we saw it all) all looked yummy too. So if you want a casual place that has good food, but don't mind feeling cramped or a loud atmosphere, you'd probably enjoy it. Interior just nothing special, seemed to me, and for me that makes for a lot of a meal experience.

“First Time Visitor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

We visited friends in town for the Graw Days celebration and had a late Saturday night dinner at Laurrapin. The food was excellent and at a reasonable price. The pot roast was unbelievable and highly recommended. Great atmosphere at the bar. Appears to be a favorite of the locals.
