There may be many ways to describe this distinctive inn, but it's truly difficult to do so... A visit to the Vandiver is an "experience". The mansion and its beautiful grounds, the creative culinary faire, the attention to detail throughout the property, as well as the friendly & accommodating owners and their staff, all combine to create a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable event. I absolutely adore this place!!!
Over the past two years I have attended several events and stayed as an overnight guest at The Vandiver Inn. From office parties to an intimate Valentine's Dinner weekend, each of my visits have exceeded my expectations. The cuisine has always been a surprising and delicious interpretation of classic dishes with an inspired modern twist. The gifted owner/chef, Susan Muldoon, is fabulous! Even "buffets" are an epicurian delight. The rooms are an eclectic mixture of modern comforts and treasured original antiques. As you move about the mansion, you can't help but feel the real connection of the present day to a by-gone era and the venerable Vandiver family's lovely home. Please notice the architectural details, especially in the woodwork & hearths. Whether I was sitting on the gracious front porch watching the foot traffic & sipping a glass of wine, attending an event in the pavilion, or relaxing in the comfort of my room, I always feel the gracious hospitality of this lovely place.
As an overnight guest I have had several lovely, comfy, impeccably clean and well appointed rooms. Upon waking, I found so many wonderful choices for both cold and hot breakfast, it was hard to choose. Let's just say I have never been disappointed and have always over indulged!
I cannot recommend The Vandiver Inn more earnestly. I swear The Vandiver Inn is ENCHANTED!!! The weekend rates are an exceptional value. I can't wait to plan my next escape.
