I took my friend Bernadette to Remomo's this past Thursday (Dec. 27, 2007). It had been a while since I'd last eaten there. For drinks, we ordered smoothies. She had the Oreo Cookie and I had the standard Strawberry. Both were decent though I felt they were a little pricey at $4.50 a pop.
While we waited for our food, the waitress brought out some bread. I felt Remomo's was cheap here as we only received one piece for each of us. They also included a small plastic cup filled with one piece of garlic and olive oil.
For starters, she had the fried mozzarella wedges while I had the fried calamari. Bernadette thought her mozzarella wedges were good. I was displeased with my calamari as it seems the portions keep getting smaller and smaller. When I first went to Remomo's 4 or 5 years ago, they gave an incredible serving of calimari. Now, it's down to a medium portion which doesn't impress. The only nice thing is that the price hasn't gone up. It still costs $7.99 (I believe). I suspect Remomo's trying to keep the calimari within the typical price range of an appetizer which is $6 to $10.
For the main course, Bernadette had their lasagna while I had their prime rib. Bernadette received a massive chunk of lasagna which she was hard pressed to finish. My prime rib was cooked to perfection and had some excellent potatoes on the side.
The waitress who served us gave us good service and checked to make sure we had everything we wanted. When I asked for a glass of water, she promptly got it.
There is lots of parking at Arundel Mills Mall where Remomo's is located but, you may have a hard time finding a spot at peak hours. I know I did when I arrived at the mall.
Overall, I have to rate Remomo's as above average because of their excellent entree portions and great service. I didn't give them an excellent because I don't like the case of the shrinking plate when it comes to the calimari or stinginess when it comes to the bread. It would also be nice if they'd knock the price down a little on their smoothies.
