“Nice, New, Nearby........”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013

This property still shows NEW! It has a VERY comfy bed.........OMG!!!
The walls are rather thin and NOISE can be heard from down the hall and right outside the doorway, although not so much once INSIDE.

It is located directly across from Arundel Mills and has a shuttle service.
There is also a parking garage, spaces for GREEN cars, and bowls of food out for your pet! The breakfast selection was ok, savory eggs, juicy links, an array of breads, juices, and fruit. The supply was ample for the sizable crowd that was present.

Now, inside the ROOM.....the cable line-up is vast..Showtime, TVOne, a classic VH1, and a few others outside of the "norm" of hotels. There is a happy hr (Mon-Thur), it NEEDS to be on Friday too! That sucked that it wasn't offered.

There is NO clock in the room. There is a built in one on the microwave, but after a short while it just streams the PUSH START menu data.....The desk is neat to look at but not that functional with the chair...it was a odd level. Some of the windows were UP so high, that it prevented many in our party from being able to look out of in the hallways, etc....As many others have stated, the pool is rather small and was almost always EMPTY. The gym, has a rather nice selection of machines. Some rooms, do NOT have the FULL kitchen......the hotels website makes it look like THEY ALL have that feature....we were disappointed on that aspect.

The shower was divine!
*Caution* The water gets VERY HOT!

Overall, this extended weekend trip, has been a relaxing one & when my travels place me in this region again, I will strongly consider giving THIS place my business again.

Very friendly front desk staff. Great happy hour nightly and excellent full breakfast daily; both are free. I arrived and they were serving chicken curry at HH, which was very good. Coffee is always hot and available. Newspapers free in the lobby daily. The pool is extremely small, just big enough to splash around in- maybe do some water exercise and relax, but not to swim laps. It does have an accessible lowering device for people with disabilities. There are two gyms and they are excellently equipped. Both the lobby and patio are comfortable-decore modern upscale. Great location. Shuttle to mall. Grocery store, bank, casino, everything across the street within walking distance; including a baseball field. I could see the game from my room window. The down sides: the traffic noise, occasional airplane flying over, if you want to use the DVD player you have to ask for a cable at the front desk, which they don't tell you up front- I just happen to ask and they sent a technician up with a cable within 5 minutes. The room was well planned out and spacious; especially the kitchen, but there wasn't a complete set of silver ware and not enough items to actually cook with-a shame. Fridge was noisy. Bed too soft for my taste, but heavenly. Overall great stay. I would deffinately stay here again. Great rate with AAA! Use of bar with pool table next door has an upscale-casual night-club-like atmosphere, which is a nice change from the casino and mall. A safe in the closet is big enough for a laptop- nice touch! Good closet space. Two thumbs up!

This was my second Element property stay and it was lovely. The jr Suite style rooms are very well designed, bathrooms are gorgeous and having an open full kitchen and sitting room area really allows one to feel at home on the road. Unfortunately, we were only in town for 12 hours....but nonetheless it was a great stay.

They have in-house laundry, and so after a week on the road was able to wash my clothes and prep for the next leg of my trip (VERY USEFUL). Also, there is a massive shopping mall next door (10 min walk) or 2 min hotel shuttle ride).

What I found interesting about this property, its one huge building split into 2 hotels....a sister starwood hotel (ALOFT) was next door-ish. Separate entrances, and you feel like you're in your respective hotel ...hmmm, just interesting.

Baltimore Airport BWI is nearby and the freeways are right around the corner.

NO COMPLAINTS.

The Front Desk Staff couldnt have been more helpful (I wish I could remember her name) A very very kind black lady (she works overnight) and was so helpful with my reservation and company billing....I was able to thank her upon departure.

Free Hot Breakfast was pretty amazing, tasted on par with what Ive had at Westins and W's so a major plus.

This property has SO much potential, yet still a long way to go. Had seen previous reviews so was cautiously optimistic that I would have a pleasant stay...UNfortunately -- not so much. Let's start with the good: convenient location to mall, gas, restaurants, and grocery; modern design, spacious rooms, great ammenities, a very "hip" hotel. The rooms were laid out well and clean, plenty of outlets and connections, great having kitchen with large fridge, micro, dishwasher, 2-burner stove. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was excellent with walk-in shower/dual-head. Towels and TP were both very good. Service was decent upon checkin, but I was still able to get rate $20 less than walk-up, and I don't appreciate having to haggle. Breakfast was plentiful, but average. Fitness room was more than adequate. Hotel is about 3.5 miles from BWI airport, and about 10 miles from downtown Baltimore. Request ice bags from front desk, no ice machine.

Now for the BAD -- What a way to ruin a nice stay...Saturday night, and the staff/security had no crowd control. Noise from guests started at 10:00pm and lasted past 2am, despite TWO calls to the front desk. At one point the inside noise died, just to be replaced but louder noise from the ouside courtyard. No common courtesy, and it's tough to hold the property responsible, BUT, they are.

Might consider one more stay here just because of the location and great rooms, but I will have to be enticed by a great rate, and only a weekDay stay. Hotel is adjacent to Aloft, and shares shuttle services and a common courtyard.

Room Tip: The studio King and 1BR have basically the same amount of space and layout, but the studio is an ope...

Stayed at this hotel 6/1-6/3 and was pleasantly surprised by all that it offered. The hotel offers tremendous value -- expansive rooms, free HOT breakfast, lots of amenities and it is very modern. Staff was warm and friendly, and very helpful with special request. They took a genuine concern in making sure all their guests needs were met.

We stayed in a studio room, which was large ,very modern, had free fast wifi (so rare these days), a modern bathroom, a nice living area with pull out couch, a full kitchen area and a comfortable Heavenly bed. The lobby was clean and inviting, and much different than a regular hotel. The pool area was large (indoor) and clean but was shared with the adjoining Aloft property next door. Workout room was very large for this size hotel with a ton of equipment.

Breakfast was HOT and offerings changed each day--pancakes, waffles, eggs, grits, potatoes. I would have liked to see pastries or more fruit, but it was a pretty good breakfast for the price of the room.

Location is excellent--right near I95 and the Baltimore/Wash Xway. Also right near BWI airport and Arundel Mills mall and Live Casino. Lots of shopping and restaurants within minutes.

My only complaints were that the housekeeping needs some work. There was a ton of dust all over the furniture when we arrived. The top of the refrigerator had not been wiped down in weeks and was caked in dust. Other than the dust issue, the room was clean and acceptable. This is something that bothers me and is a telltale sign that something is not right with housekeeping or management. However, despite this minor issues, the hotel still offered great value, overall was very clean and modern, and had a great staff. We will definitely be back!

Once again, I am biased towards Element Hotels in particular and Starwood properties in general. I just simply like them. This location is no different!

The hotel is located adjacent to the Aloft hotel and just across the street from Arundel Mills Mall (which has all the shopping you can handle, plus a Medieval Times, Best Buy, movie theater, Bass Pro Outdoor World and the Maryland Live! Casino). A complimentary shuttle is provided from both Aloft and Element to the mall and casino.

The beds at Element really stand out as their best feature! Incredibly comfortable and supportive! Additionally, the hotel is located within minutes to BWI Airport, making it incredibly convenient for those catching flights. Finally, Baltimore's Inner Harbor is a short (about 15 minutes) car ride away.

All in all, a true gem!
