“Do not stay at the Clarion ever, sleep in your car”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

The hotel was the worst, there was mold in the rooms, the pool area was terrible. The chlorine levels in the pool was too high that it was hard to breath. In addition the rooms were stuffy, they had to put dehumidifiers in rooms to get the stuffiness out. This was the worst place I have ever stayed at. Don't not go there, I repeat do not stay there. I would not send my worst enemy there to stay

Room Tip: Don't say at the hotel is the best way to pick a room

First room, head of bed was lower than foot of bed = broken bed. Second Room: Bed in a little better shape but not much. Regardless, I refused to sleep in the bed as it was disgusting. Rooms disgusting. Carpeting dirty and smelly, Bathroom had gross stains on the wall. All for the reduced rate of $90 wasted bucks a night. A NIGHTMARE! Customer service desk is useless. No help. This junk hole isn't worth more than $20 bucks a night. What a waste! Being in the room, which smells like chemicals hiding mold odor, makes you itch. I can only suspect there are bugs of many species here. Don't waste your hard earned dollars like we did. It is disgusting.

Room Tip: Don't bother. None here.

Stayed one night while traveling through. Booked through Priceline/Bookit.com for a VERY good deal. Hotel was in convenient location, staff was friendly. Room was decent and Continental breakfast provided. Worth the discounted price!!!

I had a romantic overnight trip with my fiance, so we decided to go all out and get the King Suite with a 2-person whirlpool tub in it. The room was very large, and clean. The whirlpool tub was very nice, but I don't think there is an air conditioner vent in the bathroom, as it got very warm and stuffy in there. The hallways and elevator were very hot too. The pool and atrium were very pretty and clean, the pool had a great temperature. My only complaint is that the bar wasn't open, even though it was supposed to be open on a Saturday night.

Overall the hotel and facilities are not bad, especially for the price point. The property is maintained but can be best described as "old meets newer". The renovation that took place in 2009 didn't renovate every aspect of the hotel. The guest room bathrooms were partially renovated; new shower with granite (or marble) walls, new tub and fixtures, new granite countertop in bathroom. Little things like toilet seats, flooring, switch plate covers, etc. did not look as if they were new. The room was spacious and had comfortable beds and pillows. Linens were clean. Furniture and TV were definitely dated, although the room as a whole was in nice shape and clean. All rooms have; iron/ ironing board (not in great shape), coffee maker, coffee, tea, hair dryer. Initially when I checked in, the air conditioner was not working and so the front desk moved me. I actually stayed two separate times (a day apart) and was put in two different rooms. All three rooms I was in were the same as I described earlier. As for the rest of the property, parking lots were clean but not very well lit. Exterior entrances are locked and require you to use your guest room key to enter, so make sure you use the front entrance to check in first. The pool was interesting...they tried to create a tropical surrounding which was pretty relaxing. Pool seemed to be heated. On my second stay I had a room with a sliding patio door to the pool area. Surprisingly my room didn't reek of chlorine which was nice. The hotel layout is very confusing and there only seems to be one elevator which is kind of hidden. Be prepared to walk for a little while to find your room. Signage was placed throughout the hallways but it was still confusing. I think the hotel consists of three different buildings (additions?). There is a small work out room with decent cardio equipment. As far as the staff goes, for the most part they were helpful and courteous. I did have three boxes shipped to the hotel for a job I was doing in town. The boxes arrived in the morning and I hadn't been told they were in until I called in the evening to ask if they were delivered. When I picked them up the guest services rep did ask if I wanted help with them, which was a nice gesture. I would suggest adding another guest services rep at the desk to check people in, especially during busy times.

Overall the experience was OK. I would stay here again based on my experiences.
.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room away from the bar, unless you are on an upper floor.

The front desk has no idea what they are doing. We were told to call the night before for an early check-in the night before. When we called the night before they told us that we were not able to call for an early check-in the night before. No one knows what they are doing. We were traveling to this hotel with my handicap mother, and they were VERY unaccommodating. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. STAY AWAY!!!!

Room Tip: My advice to you is not to stay here at all.

We had a training classes for 4 days at this hotel. To get from your room to the meeting area you had to do a lot of walking and try to figure out how to get there.
The bar area was really a nice place to hang out with co-workers.
