There is nothing particularly exciting about this restaurant or its location. However, the food is good and fresh, the place is very clean, and the staff are friendly and attentive. I wish the owners would gravitate away from the standard American sandwiches and salads and towards have some specialty entrees each evening. It has the potential of moving evolving from being a good small town bistro to something special. The wine is good, but glasses are a little expensive. Better to get a bottle since Maryland allows you to take the wine home if you don't finish it.
I don't fault the owners for being a little conservative and focusing on American standard fare since Hagerstown, Maryland, does not have a particularly sophisticated restaurant-going population. Unfortunately, anything the restaurant would do to become more innovative would likely be met by public rejection.
