“horrible”

Best Western Kent Narrows Inn

I got stuck staying here for business for a few days and was much happier sleeping in my car. I had reserved a non smoking room and got what used to be a smoking room (or they just temporarily placed a no smoking sign in my room). The front desk girl wouldn't speak to me as she was too caught up in her "like, whatever" phone conversation to be bothered with doing her job. The carpet had not been cleaned in quite some time, let alone vacuumed. The dressers and shelves were covered in a good layer of dust. The sheets and blankets were stained and poorly washed. I had a couple of 6 and 8 legged visitors throughout my stay. The shower was luke warm at best. For the breakfast, it's fine if you want sugar or fat (fruit loops, breakfast cakes, bisquits and gravey, etc). The pool appeared to have not been cleaned in a very long time so I obviously bypassed that and attempted the fitness room which was a guest room converted into the gym. So, anyone over 5'7" bumps their head on the celing if you try running on the treadmill or doing the eliptical. The machines are also quite old and didn't work too well. I would definitely recommend spending the extra money to go to another hotel. A few of my coworkers also stuck here had the same experiences.

We used this hotel for a block of rooms for our wedding on Kent Island. We found this hotel to have the most affordable rates in in the area. Other hotels, including the Hilton across the street, have much higher prices. We blocked about 40 rooms at this hotel. We stayed on the fourth floor, which has an amazing view! Request the fourth floor if you can, and request a room with a view of the water. The rooms were standard, appeared clean, although some had a hint of an upleasant smell. The pool area was nice, although it had a bit too much chlorine! The area around the pool can get a bit slippery! The breakfast was good, and had a wide variety. This hotel is close to the water, shopping outlets, wedding venues on Kent Island and the Bay Bridge.

At first, we were very impressed with the hotel. The woman at the front desk seemed very kind and helpful. The pool looked nice and there was free breakfast. The room seemed clean when we first walked in, but we later found many problems. First off, only one of lights worked. It ended up being that the rest needed new bulbs. Then, we found that there was only one towel. To top it off, there was a refridgerator that we later found was broken. We put some food in, and after about an hour water started leaking and all of our food got all wet and was no longer edible. When we called the front desk to report the problems, they seemed very annoyed.

The last day when we checked out, there was a different employee working at the front desk that was very unkind and unhelpful. She got our rate wrong, and she was just very unfriendly, treating us like we did not belong there. Overall, I was very disappointed and will not be staying here again, if I return I will be staying at the much nicer looking Hilton across the street.

“Good for exploring”

Best Western Kent Narrows Inn

We stayed at the BW Grasonville on Kent Narrows Island for 4 days in early April. It's a good location for exploring the Eastern Maryland shore of the Chesapeake Bay.
Less than an hour's drive south east from Baltimore (45 miles) the hotel is next to R-50 and ideal for antique shopping at nearby Stevensville or modern shopping at Prime Outlets (both 5 miles away).

A nice Best Western, we found the staff friendly and helpful (lobby open 24-hours plus free coffee!). Also, the complimentary breakfast with free newspapers is a bonus.

The rooms are basic but clean, all with microwave and refrigerator, although our bathroom was quite small. Get a bayview room - little to see, but at night it's quiet as it's not facing the freeway. Good restaurants within a few minutes walk - try the crabcakes at the lively Harris Crab House nearby.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. If you're on a budget (booked a double room for less than $90 on the web) and want to stay somewhere quiet but safe, away from city centres, the hotel is just right. Also, the heated pool is open until 9pm, so perfect after a long day in the car, especially for my bored 5 year-old daughter!

“Best Western Kent Narrows is absolutely wonderful!”

Best Western Kent Narrows Inn

My husband, myself, our two grandchildren and our puppy dog stayed at the Best Western Kent Narrows, Maryland on Friday night, December 9, 2005. They have a wonderful pool, sauna and hot tub that the kids enjoyed very much. The front desk staff couldn't have been any nicer or helpful. We ordered a pizza when we were at the pool and the front desk saw that we had and brought us plates and forks in the pool. The rooms are very clean and include a microwave and a small refrigerator. They have a great continental breakfast in a very nice "breakfast room" with a big screen tv including waffles, bagels, muffins, fruit, cereal, etc. We will definitely stay there again.
