I stayed in campsite #3 on the White Oak Loop with my family in a tent. This site sits back from the others on the loop, so noise was at a minimum. However, since it sits back, if you are staying with a larger group - as we were - you'll be out of the main drag. I actually drove past our site when first arriving. I would stay in this particular site again though.
The morning of our first overnight dawned with an intense thunderstorm, and the site right in front of this one - #2 - was almost completely washed out! Several others in the loop were cut in half with huge rivulets of running water. Since more rain was expected, we cut short our stay and left early.
The lake at New Germany looks like Pepsi, not water. The beach is sandy and clean though. The surroundings are very calming and peaceful and I absolutely loved the trees.
There is weak but free wi-fi in the Snack Shop.
