“Old Amusement Park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

Very interesting to see the old sign (art deco design) at the front of the park. We were there on a Monday so the park was deserted. It is only open Wednesday through Sunday. Be sure to see the old carousel.

“Wow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

Wow is all I can say about a place that the last time I visited was deserted and creepy. This former amusement park is wonderful. This was a National Park Service partnership that works! I say this as former NPS ranger who saw similar projects fail. The park was full of people and children enjoying themselves. The carousel was completely restored and offering cheap rides to thousands of children. The Wurlitzer Organ was amazing. The buildings have been restored. Classes and activities are a daily occurrence. I cannot say enough of my surprise when walking into this park.

“Great opportunities to learn and have fun!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

A previous amusement park is now house of many groups on arts that share their knowledge. You can have courses on photo, painting, glass, and dance among others. But, you also can just visit and have fun with your family.

“Relaxing Weekend Stroll”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

Great history behind this quaint and charming park. Nice weekend stroll option. Parking not an issue and the paved, open walkways are great for meandering or pushing a stroller through the spread-out attractions. Located close to the Potomac, abundant green foliage serves as a backdrop. Ballroom dancing center, pottery making demos and a contemporary-feel playground for children to play on are some of the many attractions. Grounds are well kept and the historic signage is still intact, giving it a post WWII feel with modern attractions and businesses. Recommend to anyone looking to get away for a weekend stroll.
