I booked this through corporate card lodging. for 4 nights Price was
$ 60 when I booked, it, now.. a few weeks later, I see three separate charges for this 4 niight stay on my amex card. $ 229, $322 and oh yeah one for over $ 400. below more on thisl
Front Desk clerk was charmingly pleasant: Good initial impression. Only problem is , she disappeared after checking me in
and the front door was locked, and the key card apparatus was not working for days and I was stuck outside at 11 p.m.in November after a 6 hour drive, in the cold, unable to get into the hotel with my luggage.. i BANGED, I SCREAMED, I called corporate headquarters on my cell phone, because their phone sitting there designed for such a purpose was ALSO broken.
Not even a first floor guest came out to see what all the screaming and banging was about. I'm Guessing that this might be commonplace there,...this is not the highest level clientele at this facility, if you get my drift.
THey told me the apparatus would be fixed the next day>To my knowledge it was broken the entire time I stayed there, which meant that the front door to hotel was probably left propped open 24/7.. so much for security.
After finally getting in, I checked everything: found baby roach in kitchen drawer.. but no other evidence of bugs anywhere.. for all the days I was there. It did, however make me put all of my luggage etc inside plastic bags. Hot Water in bathroom leaked constantly. significantly. I turned it off underneath and alerted hotel manager...upon leaving.
The heating unit in the room ? blew cold from one side and hot from the other. What? I left it off the entire stay.. room was decently insulated
The next day, my key card didn't work although I keep them separate from cell phones etc.. and waited 15 minutes this time for someone at front desk to appear. Believe me, I was hating this place by now.
Bed was ok, linens as usual cheapish.. bathroom ok except needing upgrade
Location in Gaithersburg is convenient, with a huge convenience store right down the hill almost on the same property. this was good. The hill made me worry about staying here in winter, since the service at this hotel is awful, I wonder about snow removal.
Besides the hotels obvious moronic book keeping, I found out that the price can drastically differ from what you book it at. when booked thru corporate lodging.... because it is only two weeks BEFORE the reservation date that the price is guaranteed from. PLUS they add ,taxes..which I expected, plus $ 5 fee per night. WHy ?
and me, stupid, had a Hilton I could have stayed at for $ 69 through my convention.
upon checking out a manager, whose name I have forgotten since I do not plan to use them again offered me 15 % off my next stay for these irritations. He was sincerely sorry about these issues but I have no idea if they were rectified.
