“Staff is amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2014

My wife & I do not have enough nice things to say about Herrington Harbor, or its courteous and professional staff. While staying with my parents in Maryland over the summer, we accidentally stumbled upon this unexpected gem and cannot praise the charm of this friendly little resort. It is such a beautiful place and would be a great place for a wedding, or a romantic get-away with the one you already did marry (or even for those couples with no such intention). The beach is isolated from the heavy crowds of those nearby public beaches and it has every amenity imaginable. However, what I wish to praise most is the employees that work at Herrington Harbor and we found this out by accident just how kind and capable they are when needed. While returning the beach with our four month old son, we accidentally left behind our diaper bag - which also included a very expensive Nikon camera - and that was when the Herrington Harbor team sprung into action! My wife went one way, and I went in another in search of the bag. After a little search, unbeknownst to eachother the manager of the Mango’s restaurant (Loretta) and the parking lot attendant quickly connected with Tom, the head of security, on a walkie-talkie and within minutes our bag came back to us just as soon as Tom’s golf cart turned the corner and returned it to our wife … and then of course he returned my baby son and wife back to me as well since had split up in our search! After such a scare, it is so refreshing to meet such honest, kind people and make an already memorable visit to Harrington Harbour even more enjoyable. It was also such a relief to get the camera and those precious baby pictures back! Thanks so much again to the staff and we hope to return back to Harrington Harbour very soon.

Most sincerely,
Ken & Manal I.

We rented a 3 bedrooms suit for Labor Day weekend. The suite was very spacious, nice, clean, and organized. The beds are very comfortable. The front desk was very helpful in questions and concerns. The hotel has many wonderful amenities. We specially love the private beach.

Room Tip: Bring some bug sprays to protect yourself from any bites.

We attended a wedding here. The facility is a marina with a hotel, a great beach and nice pool. They have a great set up for weddings and if you want fabulous views, you've got them. The rooms are small by any standard. They are not luxurious. Definitely an older property. Lacks adequate storage-- closet and bathroom. The food was fine, and the service good. The bar drink they are known for is "orange crush". Refreshing!

You wonder where you are when you are standing on the beach. If you want that island feel this is a place. Sunsets that mimick ones from the carribean, palm trees, water sports, luscious landscaping, frolicking foul, ( the ducks are just adorable). Some rooms are a bit small,& could use an extra shelf or so in the bathroom, but hey, your only sleeping!! In the next town a great tasty restaurant Rod & Reel. You would think they caught the fish right off the pier outside (almost!) , and don't miss Jerry's place the "personal" decor, personable staff, owner and the food, well... speaks for itself. And then you're in Italy in 20 minutes at the Running Hare Vineyard. Molto bello, i vino - squisito.

We attended a wedding at the Inn at Herrington Harbour this past weekend. The hotel has such GREAT things about it and then the NOT so great..... so here goes:

GREAT things:
- the staff is wonderful - very kind, nice, accommodating, friendly etc etc.
- the property grounds are beautiful! So very well kept with beautiful flowers, butterflies, hummingbirds
- so easily walkable - between the beach, the pool, Honey's restaurant/deli, Mango's restaurant - we only needed a car when we went to Chesapeake Beach for dinner a couple times - just for change of pace. We really enjoyed being able to walk around the Harbour with our 6 month old just looking at boats and getting fresh air.
- Bed was comfortable
-Honey's - great little place where you get your breakfast... you can also get a great lunch - and some basic needs for your room. The staff was super friendly there too!
-Having a fridge and microwave in our room was GREAT especially with a 6 month old - for food and bottles.

The NOT so great -
-Pool - while it's great - we were told that we couldn't take our 6 month old in the main pool - even with swimmy diapers. So we were confined to the baby pool our entire visit. I didn't see anywhere on the web site that informed us of this prior to booking our room. For as much as we paid for our room, I was really disappointed that we couldn't take the baby into the pool. Obviously a 6 month old doesn't swim by himself in a baby pool - he likes to be held by Mom and Dad -
- While this place is beautiful for weddings.... I was REALLY upset when I was woken up by a 15 minute fireworks show at 10:50 at night right outside our room. With a 6 month old baby that was woken up too. They should NOT allow this to happen unless EVERY guest in the hotel is attending that wedding. It is unacceptable to awaken your other hotel guests that are paying good money for your rooms.
- There is an ant problem - we noticed them when we checked in - just on the front patio of our room - we didn't say anything until we then found them venturing their way into our room. The staff was really nice and helpful with spraying for the ants - but then the next day we found more ants in our room.... again - with a baby - not good.
- The room.... while lovely - is 1/2 the size of my bedroom at home. There was barely room for the pack n play for the baby to sleep. We had to put it in front of the patio door - and then move it every time we wanted to go outside. There isn't even room for your suitcases when you empty them. We had to take them back to the car. There is no closet - just a bar on the wall to hang a few items. There is a dresser and a nightstand in the room, but no where else to put anything. Even the bathroom - has a small pedestal sink - and NO shelving for ANYTHING. They could easily put something in there on the floor on the wall where the door is - but instead we had to put everything on the back of the toilet or on the floor - disgusting. The outlets in the walls - you plug something in and it falls right back out. The room is DAMP - nothing dries in there - and you just feel gross because of the dampness of everything.

All in all we had a decent visit - I would recommend this place for a 1 or 2 night getaway... but not any longer...and definitely not recommend with a baby... just too difficult with the lack of space. We paid $250 per night - and definitely didn't feel like we got our money's worth at all.

Really enjoyed our stay.....nice room with very private outdoor hot tub. Layefback kind of atmosphere...nice plus having complementary use of stand up paddleboards. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Lots of good restaurants in the immediate area.
