we had a pizza with double pepperoni on one half and sausage and mushroom on the other. the sausage was not great, but everything else was: one of best crusts and some of the best sauce i've had in a long time. cheese was fine, nothing special. but it's the crust and sauce that are the foundation for a great pizza. so, they haven't quite reached greatness, but certainly very good.
as to the rest: we got some garlic stuffed olives. i found they tasted like they'd simply been around too long; maybe some people like the garlic cured to near mush and the olive very soft, but i like it a little fresher. some of their deli meats look fresh, some look tired. they sell those (way overpriced) italian cookies that always look ten times better than they taste; can't judge them, of course, since i simply don't try those things anymore.
perhaps the biggest problem is that they have too much space, so that everything looks a little empty and neglected. the place doesn't inspire or raise one's appetite the way an italian deli should.
but, again, the pizza is very good, and it's worth it for that.
