Originally we booked a smoking suite with 2 queen beds because there were no queen bed suites left that were non-smoking. I thought, no problem, how bad could the room smell since the hotel just opened in November. WOW! We were overwhelmed by the smell of a smoked in room. None-the-less it was my fault for booking a smoking room. Oh well, live and learn. I immediately went down to the front desk and asked for a non smoking king suite room and was promptly given one for the same price and no questions asked. I don't know what they use for cleaner, but the new room smelled a little smoked in also.
Anyway, the room was very nicely appointed. When you walk in there is a sitting room with a desk, loveseat, coffee table, and tv on a nice console stand. Further into the room was the small refrigerator, small microwave, one sink and on the opposite side was the bathroom and closet. The bathroom only had a toilet and shower stall in it. As you walk into the main area of the suite the juccuzzi tub built for 2 was on the right in the corner with mirrors around it. My kids loved it! There is also another tv in an armoire and another love seat. Off of that area is where the king bed is. The bed was a little firm, but I wasn't complaining. It helped my back. The a/c in the room was very efficient.
They have a continental breakfast in the morning from 6-10. They have a belgian waffle maker, pastries (bagels, english muffins, donuts, etc.), individual pre-packed servings of Kellogs cereals, egg patties (they were I guess scrambled and formed in a circle), sausage patties, coffee, tea, juice, milk. It was exceptional for a continental breakfast. The only problem was that while we were there the hotel was packed and everyone wanted a belgian waffle. Since they only have one maker and it takes 3 minutes to cook it was taking forever and people were getting frustrated.
The pool is indoor, small, but enough. They have a very small round hot tub. We would have had a great time except for some rowdy teenagers came in and ruined it for us.
They do not have cribs, they have pack-n-plays, but they are in very good condition and they provided a sheet. My 2yo son had no problems sleeping in it.
If you follow the directions on the hotels web site you will not get lost. If you wing it, you will. The hotel is very conviently located to I-95 and Columbia.
We stayed for 2 nights and we would stay there again, but next time we are in the area we are going to try a different hotel. Nothing against them, just like a little variety since we don't get up to the area often.
