Four of us stayed here as an affordable alternative to the inner harbor during the Orioles/Red Sox series. A quick 20 minute (if that) ride to the inner harbor was very convienient, as the hotel is right off of Rt 95. Only 30 minutes to Washington DC. The hotel was very clean, and we were impressed with the housekeeping service. One day, we didn't leave the room until after 2PM and wasn't expecting housekeeping to visit our room, but when we came back at 9PM, our beds were neatly made, and new toiletries were added to the room. There was 1 couple, one single, and one teen in our room, and the room was large enough to accommodate not only the 2 queen beds, but also a roll-away bed (for the teen) without overcrowding the room. There's a nice indoor pool and jacuzzi that is open until 11PM - which our teen was happy about. Our only complaint was that the AC was in the corner, next to the computer desk, so the airflow was not optimal, and the room got very warm around 3AM. Breakfast was included on Saturday and Sunday. It wasn't anything special, and we skipped it on Sunday so that we could eat on the road to DC. You will definately NOT be at a loss for dining options within a 5 mile radius of the hotel. Our favorite was the Greene Turtle on McGaw Rd. We are planning to stay here again next year when Sox are in town.

I am always worried about these chain hotels, and reading the reviews didn't really help. But this was a pleasant surprise. The room was a good rate, comfortable (including the bed), and clean. Location is quiet and safe yet near dining and shopping and major roads. Breakfast was good. Cons: We were supposed to have a refridgerator and didn't, so that was annoying. Also the low flush toilet was a pain.

A group of us just stayed for one night at the Courtyard. Staff at check in were friendly and nice. Check in / out was smooth and the staff was very helpful and informative on recommending restaurants in the area.

The rooms were nice and clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The beds have lots of pillows!

As a follow up about the post re: the hair dryer, I know initially I couldn't find one in the room, but realized after opening a cabinet by the sink, there it was (just not visibly hanging from the cord in other hotels).

We thought it was strange that there were piles of linens / towels in the hallway throughout the day (not alot of piles, but a few). One of my friends even commented that we thought housekeeping was folding the laundry there.

The only drawback was the lowest price offered for the rooms did not include breakfast. I would have had to pay $20 more to eat in the morning. I think when a hotel charges $100 for a room, breakfast should be included IMHO. I used different travel sites and the lowest price I could find was about $100 for a room with 2 queen beds.

Stayed here for two nights over a weekend in July 2005. The Courtyard is a nice enough hotel but I had a problem finding the hair dryer in my room the first morning - and, as it turns out, the staff had a problem with correctly telling me where to find it. Initially they said it would be hanging in the armoire but there was no hair dryer to be found there. Then they said sorry, there are no spare hair dryers, so I had to do without. Not good. They did, however, promise to provide me one later on in the day. When I returned to my room in the evening, I could not find where they had stashed the hair dryer. So I called the front desk back and the attendant told me it would be in the cabinet beneath where the coffee maker is. It might have been there all along, maybe not - but it certainly never was in the armoire.

Breakfast buffet with delivered juices and/or coffee is a good value at $9.40. The selections were plentiful and the eggs and sausages were excellent. They were cleaning the carpets in all the rooms when I was there. My room was clean and quiet, the bed comfortable. Wired, complimentary high-speed internet access worked well. The coffee maker is a different affair - there is no carafe, you place your coffee cup directly beneath the drip exit. There is a little sliding tray that holds the grounds, that is what they provide in the packagaing. Aside from the hair dryer episode, I had a very pleasant stay. There is a Lone Star Steakhouse adjacent to the hotel. Best to have a car if you are going to stay here and want to see the area.
