A beautifully appointed restaurant in an old Maryland mansion halfway between Baltimore and Washington that just oozes moneyed charm. The staff is wonderfully attentive, the setting is all white linen and the food above average. The wine list is deep - foreign & domestic vintages priced from $32 to a grand (!). Warning - the same vino retails around $9 @ Total Wine without the ambiance. They make a killer Manhattan. Drink responsibly.
We went for the crab cake special and weren't totally disappointed. The plate comes with two huge crab cakes, seasoned and broiled to perfection. The cole slaw was coarse and bitter- inedible - but the sweet potato fries were delicious! Appetizers and desserts were tasty but too costly for the meager portions of tuna & smoked salmon and small slices of dessert.
A pleasant place for an elegant meal and a wonderful retreat from the denim-clad riff-raff. Drinks, appetizers, wine, dinner, dessert & tip ran $65 each for our party of six. We're a blue collar bunch and won't be back until one of us hits the lottery. Great place to impress your date or pop the question. Can't really knock the place - splurge!!!
