Went to Clydes in Columbia with another couple on a Saturday night. We were seated right away. The atmosphere is very nice, right on the lake. The waiter came to the table very quickly and was very congenial, telling us about the starters and salads and taking our drink order. No bread or anything to the table (although I saw it delivered to another nearby table) before our food came. Our appetizers came out very quickly, the caesar salad was nice, uncut long pieces of Romaine with sprinkles of Parmesan cheese, nothing special. The mushroom and asparagus tempura was very good, and a nice large portion to share at the table. The beet salad was nice, it had a dusting of walnuts and a dusting of goat cheese, it could have used more. The waiter came back and reviewed the entrees with us and took our entree order. The food again came out quickly (?maybe a little too fast). The scallops entree was nice but the size was disappointing, there were maybe 6 scallops on the plate, not really enough for an adult for dinner. The taste was average. The halibut was delicious and a very nice portion. Our friend ordered the single crab cake, broiled, which was also a disappointing size. Again, not really not enough for an adult dinner. We did not order dinner, but did get coffee. After our waiter took our coffee order, he kind of disappeared. We were never offered a refill on the coffee (which was really good), which we would have liked. It took quite a while for us to get the check and get it back with our credit cards. So all in all, not a bad dinner, but could be better.
