My husband, two of our colleagues, and I stopped in on Thursday during an evening we had off from chaperoning a group of HS students visiting the area. It is within very short walking distance from the Quality Inn, and across the street from Applebee's. Bar stools were really nice with heavy padding and the happy hour drinks/wings were a good value. We definitely had the first impression that this was just a local, neighborhood sports bar because there were a ton of flat screen tv's all around the place and the bar takes up a very prominent space in the restaurant. But when we ordered food, we were blown away. My husband and I ordered the chicken quesodilla, a side of collards, and the jerk wings. The wings fell off the bone and the jerk was perfectly spicy and had all the flavor of the best jerk chicken I've ever tasted. The chicken quesodilla was made with goat cheese and had a very nice flavor and had a nice presentation with diced red bell pepper. The collards were probably the best thing we ate though...I have never enjoyed them before, but this place makes them tart with vinegar and savory (with bacon I think). Our friends ordered the jerk chicken sandwich and the blackened tilapia. Our friend raved about the tilapia and said it was the best she had ever had, and our other friend thought the jerk chicken was delicious (but too spicy for him...he's a wimp).
The service was fantastic, the prices were very reasonable, the menu had variety, and there were plenty of beers (and liquor) to choose from. It was clear the management cared about the experience of the guests because two different people who appeared to be in charge (maybe one was an owner?) asked us how everything was. The bathrooms are also spotless. It was a nice experience and during our stay, we will definitely go back to try some other menu items.
