“Nice renovated hotel- perfect location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2009

This hotel is located in a perfect location with all the shopping / restaurants within 2 blocks.
With the Metro, movies, great restaurants, all the retail, I will make sure I choose this hotel on my next DC visit.

My review is simple:
wonderful hotel, comfortable, squeeky clean rooms.
great bistro at the lobby - wonderful breakfast. and reasonably priced.
the staff is helpful and cordial.
great location: two blocks from Friendship Heights metro station. (red line).
two blocks from a wonderful shopping area (on the street not a mall) with lots of great stores and restauranrs. even a huge supermarket ('Giant').
perfect stay. fun vacation.

We stayed at this hotel on our way back from a wedding in Delaware, and wanted to have a couple of days to see the sights in DC. What a wonderful spot we chose!! This newly remodeled hotel was in an incredibly safe neighborhood that someone described as the "Beverly Hills of the east coast" with high end shops and good restaurants, and only 2 blocks from the metro station that took us into DC. The staff was great, and allowed us an early arrival. The room was imaculate, and well decorated. Our bathroom was very spacious and had a huge walk in shower. The bed was very comfy, and we had extra pillows. There was a coffee bar as well as a refrigerator and microwave. And the weekend rate of $109 plus $15 for parking was a real bargain. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed at the hotel for a week. It was nice to see the old Holiday Inn completely renovated. Nice location if you want to be close to shopping and dining of Chevy Chase. Everything was new and comfy.. I would not hesitate to stay over at the hotel again and again. Lobby smell is nice - ignore the earlier comments - it is like a scented candle smell.

I stayed at the Chevy Chase Marriott in July and I was quite pleased with it. The hotel was clean, except for a strange odor in the lobby area. The room was small, but cozy. There was a flat panel TV in the room that got really hot to the point that I could feel the heat radiating from it whenever I passed by. The bathroom was cool except that the shower handle seemed to have been shoved in instead of screwed on, so it kept falling off when I turned on the shower.

Overall, this was an extremely convenient location. There are restaurants close by (including a Cheesecake Factory and a Starbucks). A Giant Eagle is right around the corner, and there are a number of other stores in the area. It is extremely close to the Metro Station, and there are wonderful shopping opportunities around.

I really enjoyed staying here because of the convenience of the location. The staff was extremely helpful and polite. I thank Jurry (the front desk supervisor) and the rest of the staff for making my stay so pleasant!

Very nice and looked brand new. The bathroom door was kind of weird. It hung from the ceiling on a track. They had a place to eat on the first floor called the Bistro. Kind of expensive, but good food and good portions. The hotel is about 3 blocks down and across the street from the Friendship Heights Metro station. They didn't have postage stamps for sale, which I thought they said they had. It seemed like such a nice place would make the effort to have stamps available, but I guess not. We got a really good weekend rate, and at that same rate, we would definitely stay there again.

I was so afraid to stay at this hotel because of all of the negative reviews. I did not experience bad service and our rooms were clean. The hotel is brand new and is walking distance of Gucci, Cartier, Louis Vutton, and other high end stores. The parking is $15 per day but the wireless internet is free. They have a business center with 3-4 computers and an additional 3 computers for printing boarding passes only. I would definitely stay here again and skip the rental car because it is within 3 blocks of the subway station. It is also within walking distance of Cheesecake Factory, Maggiano's and McDonalds. There are several other restaurants and a CVS>
