We love Rio Grande. Mi Cocina is Rio Grande, but more sophisticated. To start the meal you get the traditional basket of chips and salsa, but these chips are thick, hearty corn chips, a step up from the usual. The salsa is good but I prefer the salsa at Rio Grande. Both my wife and I ordered Margarita's. They were good, but served in TALL glass - - these were LARGE Margaritas. Good, but I would rather get a smaller drink of better quality. My wife ordered Tacos "De Camaron" : Chile-Lime Seasoned Shrimp y Cole Slaw ala Mexicana served in Corn Tortillas with Ensalada de Aguacate y Arroz. Very good, I had a bite. I had the house specialty: Tacos "De Brisket" - Your choice of Flour or Corn Tortillas with Shredded Brisket, oven roasted overnight, Queso Blanco, Arroz, Ensalada and Sliced Avocado. Very good! After all of that we were stuffed. Didn't have room for desert. We ate out site. It was very pleasant. The inside dining room was very nice. The bar was nice too - with seating spilling out into the front of the restaurant - right on Wisconsin Avenue, across the street from the Barlow Building. Overall, very good. We would definitely go back.
