The negatives..

The walls are really thin, so you can hear everything. Even the appliances in the room seems to make random noises, and the heater is really loud.

The breakfast was just so-so. They needed some fruit, and the juices were mostly diluted.
There are not a lot of eateries nearby either.

The positives...
It is really close to the metro rail station
Apparently there is a shuttle that will drive you there, but the guy at the front desk didnt seem to know if it would be running. We drove our car and parked there. Parking was free on sunday. It is about a 20 minute subway ride to the museums and things, very convenient.

We were delighted to find this gem! Clean rooms, hot and free breakfast, and reasonable rates. The staff are most helpful and there's a shuttle to a nearby metro station. If you need to stay in the DC area, but don't want to pay DC prices, this is a great solution.

I stumbled across this hotel while looking for another one in the area and decided to stay here. My first default hotel in Alexandria, VA was not keeping up with some things I liked. My second default hotel in Alexandria, VA stopped carrying one of the amenities like during stays on the road.

So, I decided to give this a try. It's somewhat above what I had been paying but a bit below what I could be paying.

So, why not give it a try? Some of the people walking through the hallways I gave a second look to. The guest rooms are cleaner than a hospital's operating room. The hotel staff is nice but don't seem to be amused with banter. The hotel is near I 495 and I 95 combined, the Washington, DC Beltway but from the two places where I stayed, I could not hear any traffic noise. Of course, you have planes flying over from time to time since you are about four miles away from Joint Base Andrews (however, I will always call ilt, Andrews AFB). I have had scheduling conflicts, so, I never did get to eat breakfast there.

I think I have found my new default hotel for the southern suburbs of Washington, DC.

breakfast was good. hotel clean, except for the refrigerator had an old rotten banana left in it. service was good. asst general manager Mr. Evans was very concerned about the refrigerator. My daughter and I stayed on the forth floor which was quiet and nice. Found a parking place right in front. The hotel is very close to the AFB where we were visiting.
