“Always a GREAT stay at the HYATT Regency Chesapeake Bay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

This was perhaps my 8th or 9th time staying at this hotel and it always is a pleasure. They had tweaked it a little since our stay in last March. I liked that they took away the need for a room key to enter the workout and game rooms, which are both exceptional facilities. The water temp in the indoor/outdoor hot tub could have a been a little higher, for safety reasons. As usual the facilities that this resort offers are unsurpassed for being located in a small town area. Be sure and check out the nature walk behind the gold course. The path is composed of wood chips and you're very likely to see a heron nesting up in the trees.

Room Tip: Try and get on their mailing list for the seasonal flyers they put out and these specials may help a...

I've attended an office conference here two years in a row, and I have to say my room stay each time is very comfortable. The conference/meeting rooms are quite adequate as is the food offerings for a very basic breakfast and the hotel's lunch and dinner choices. If this is the treatment we get for being forced in a room all day to get along and get work done, I wonder how much better it is when the weather is warmer during a weekend getaway. Staff is always very nice, makes for an enjoyable experience even if its work related.

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous, and the staff is simply charming. Everyone, from the front desk staff to the housekeeping staff, I was delighted at every turn. The views from the hotel was amazing and the outdoor pool is open in the winter (and it is SUPER heated, which was awesome). The activities are endless, choose from a mini golf course, sand volleyball courts, swimming pools, a beach, a spa, a marina, a full golf course, and much much more. The restaurants are delicious and the bar and bartenders are fantastic.
I highly recommend this hotel for your special occasion or just a weekend away.

Room Tip: Higher floor rooms have even better rooms of sunset.

We have been to this resort several times and have enjoyed our stay each time. There is a lot to do, especially during warm weather. Rooms with a view of the Choptank River offer a very pleasant vista. On this visit, we were there during spring break for many schools, so the resort was very busy and crowded with families. However, my wife and daughter took full advantage of the spa and we all enjoyed the gym which is very nicely equipped for a hotel. We ordered room service on several occasions because the dining rooms were very crowded. The room service was pretty quick, and the food was very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The resort charges a resort fee even if you are unable to take full advantage of all resort activities, which we consider to be a drawback. The resort could offer more activities for high school-aged children. Otherwise, this is a favorite destination of ours for long weekends.

We appreciate the positive feedback about our resort and especially guest loyalty! We’re thrilled to hear that our resort’s amenities were enjoyable. Please know we’re sharing comments regarding the crowded dining rooms and activity needs with our management team. Our resort fee covers numerous complimentary services provided year-round to guests, like in-room wi-fi access, two bottled waters, dive-in movies, outdoor recreational activities, parking, and our “Captain’s Parlor” game room. We hope to welcome you and your family back very soon to our four-diamond resort.

Warm Regards,

Stayed 3 nights over spring break 2013. Not crowded at all. It’s a big, large resort with multiple building and lots of swim area. The conference area is impressive. The resort is very kid friendly. There are several amenities that are free (parking, in-room Wi-Fi) and they have a very courteous and helpful staff.

It was cold but, they have a large heated pool with a slide and the outdoor hot tub was open. We were able to find chairs around the indoor pool all day. The outdoor infinity pool was closed.
Our 6th floor was very large and comfortable. We could not hear noise from the hall. The fold out bed can sleep 2 kids. A roll-out bed ran $15. Plenty of hot water. It was a great room!

Resort food was pricy but, good. Breakfast for 4 ran $80. The quality was better than most resorts we’ve stayed in. They seek out the best local food and beer (crab cakes and 16 Mile). If you want to eat cheap, just drive off of the resort. There are many fast food restaurants close by.

Overall, the entire family loved the stay and enjoyed having the place to ourselves. We’d like to return for a September weekend.

Room Tip: Water front rooms offer impressive views from the top floor.

We stayed here for an Easter getaway. It's a beautiful resort on the water with updated, clean rooms. Micheners is a perfect spot for a drink. Lots of positives, but it is pricey and it was very crowded and felt it. Noise in the hallway, no remote in our room, no response from the front desk, no hot water due to some sort of water main issue. Makes me wonder if it was worth the price....

I stayed one night here on business. The room was quite comfortable, with a beautiful view of the water. New construction, with contemporary neutral decor. I didn't use any of the resort facilities, so can't comment on the pool, etc. Per other reviews, there were tons of kids around -- might have been spring break timing. My hallway had a clear "quiet zone" sign, and I didn't hear any noise at all during the night, so big thumbs up for sleep quality. I will stay here again for business. The fresh fruit plate from room service for breakfast was huge and varied -- kudos.
