I was really thrilled to move to the area and have what I thought was a delightful neighborhood pub with gastro pub food. However, after visiting this establishment on a few occasions, I can say my experiences have been inconsistent ranging from horrible to just average. The food and beer are obviously their selling points, but won't stand up forever against their terrible service. And, for that matter, best not to go on a busy afternoon when they are likely to run out of both food and beer.
The environment is warm, and inviting, but that stops shortly after you are greeted with a barely competent waitress who'd rather be watching football than serving you food on Sunday. On another occasion we were left with empty glasses and dirty dishes for quite some time when it appeared (and smelled) like the waitress had gone out to smoke. While I strongly dislike a server who hovers over you whilst dining, these servers could not have been any less engaged, never once checking to see if our food was ok or if we needed another round (we did!).
The kitchen ran out of french fries, and several of the kegs were kicked with no like for like substitutions available. On another occasion, the kitchen ran out of lettuce (should note, there is a grocery chain less than 1 mile from the restaurant). Chicken sandwich was grilled to destruction, and stringy.
I did take the time to email Dan's Tap House via their website, however no response was received. I followed up a week or so later, and no response was given. Needless to say, very disappointed that the type of service we received is acceptable and management refuses to take ownership.
