Travelled to Bethesda for business and left wanting more. First night at hotel and even though the food in the hotel restaurant was amazing our waitress never greeted us, asked about drinks or checked in on us after we got our food. She also barely spoke English so when we asked her questions she didn't really understand. My company requested lunch to be provided for our whole group and the last day was the only day that we got a lunch that was worthy of the cost we were paying. I am sure our company was not expecting hot dogs and hamburgers when they got the bill. My room was clean and there was no odor but I did not have hot water for 3 out of the 4mornings I was there. Spoke to the front desk and all I got was an apology. For future business travelers I would pay the extra money to stay in downtown Bethesda.

This is a nice place, but it is lousy how hotels like this charge you for EVERYTHING. Parking $13.00 per day, in room WIFI $12.95 per day. Convenient location and nice rooms but too expensive with extras.

I got a deal on Priceline when I agreed to a 3 1/2 star hotel in Bethesda. It was OK, but a bit worn for that rating. Who not to trust? Priceline or Marriott? Also, the towels smelled bad! Kind of a shock after a nice hot shower with their nice aromatherapy shampoo. Also, this hotel is not within walking distance of the Metro, if that is important to you.

In town for a wedding--hotel selected by bride as one of the guest choices. This was a Saturday evening. We always stay at Marriott's. The following deficits were noted:
1. No doorman at our arrival and none that we saw the entire stay.
2. No luggage carts even after one staff person sought to find one. We waited and hunted for same ourselves--to no avail
3. The only desk person on this Saturday--in a rather large hotel spoke English with great difficulty. Our comprehension of her remarks were very limited..Employees should be required to speak at least understandable English if its a hotel in America. She was pleasant but we could not understand her on repeated attempts. There was no alternative person to go to.
4. Most disturbing was trash at the main entrance that was not removed that we noted. Trash overflowing for trash canisters--all at the main entrance to the hotel.I took photos of this. AL
lso same thing--overflowing trash containers in the parking lot..Trash all over the ground. We have never seen even close to this in any other Marriott.
5. We are Club Marquis members and have been for years--almost 30. We made the reservation a few months in advance. Three days before we traveled I looked at rates on the internet for Pooks Hill Marriott. To my shock and disappointment our same room was offered for almost $40 less per night on the net. This is deplorable. Is that the way to treat frequent users? No such decrease was offered to us--preferred customers. Most disappointing.
6. We believe that there must be management problems at this hotel, which does not deserve to carry the Marriott name---we feel we know what Marriott represents re service.
7. Staff were virtually no where to be found. It appears that cost cutting has gone to the excessive here.
8. Directions offered by one helpful staff person turned out to be 180 degrees opposite the correct direction causing 30 minute delay in attending a function.

Summary: We would never stay here again...Bed was comfortable...but all of the above would rule this out...and Marriott has work to do to turn this place around.
