“noisy and dated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

I stayed here for a meeting and found the hotel to be extremely noisy at night, with voices echoing up through the interior courtyard all night. The room service was very weak. I ordered the salmon which the menu said was accompanied by browned rice and vegetable. When it arrived it was a rather plain piece of salmon with a large pile of rice and that was it for $30 plus the delivery and "service" fees. I asked about the vegetable, and the deliverer said they had "changed the menu." The meeting rooms are inconvenient as they are in the basement (no wireless phone service there) and you have to take two different sets of elevators to get there. The meeting room alternated from freezing to sweltering. Most of the employees were nice, but I would not stay here again if I had a choice.

Right on top of Bethesda Metro station and walking distance to many local eateries A Barnes & Noble being close by is another plus. And the Capital Crescent Trail is right there too, if you need to walk/run off your stresses. The hotel is a bit expensive and charges an arm and a leg for wifi access. No complimentary breakfast, either. Things are expensive here. Service was good and staff were friendly. Hotel rooms and amenities are a bit dated. I've stayed here a number of times, and this last time in particular I noticed the plumbing was super noisy. The location is the best thing about this hotel.

This hotel appears that it used to be an Embassy Suites. It was a bit dated but was clean. There's a hotel bar and a huge gift shop with drinks and snacks. The Metro station is right there and it was about a 45 minute cab ride from Dulles in rush hour traffic. There are a huge selection of restaurants within walking distance. We utilized the conference room downstairs and the room was great for a group of 50-100. The breakfast and lunch catered by the hotel was okay...standard continental breakfast fare but did have some yogurt parfaits which was a nice touch. Boxed lunch consisted of a sandwich, apple, chips, and a cookie.

In town for business. Right at the top of the escalator from the Red Line Bethesda stop (also has Valet parking). Odd set up -when you walk int he front door, there is a reception area with no one to receive you - the desk is to the right. My 9th floor King room was away from the elevator: spacious, nicely appointed, lots of pillows, outlets on the front of the desk, quiet. Two on site restaurants. Nothing outstanding but nothing to complain about - comfortable and convenient.

Room Tip: Upper floors are quieter

Although the hotel is beautiful and conveniently located to the metro, the atrium noise is horrendous. I am on the 7th floor and, after trying fan noise and tv to cover the atrium noise, am now resorting to trying to sleep with my iPod on. Screaming and laughter echoing up through the 12 story atrium is outrageous. Why no one thought about providing soundproof doors or double doors is beyond me. Stay anywhere else if you need to be refreshed in the morning.

This hotel is in a great location. This is a well run property that is comfortable. It is a little dated, yet everything worked just fine. This hotel seems to be at the end of the Hyatt upgrade priority list. I'll be back for another stay, hopefully they'll get to the upgrade soon.
