“July 4 vacation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014 via mobile

This was one hotel that I believe is a great choice for the 4th of July DC celebration. My wife and I liked that it wasn't too close to all the madness. The metro is down the stairs and out the door, which was a lot easier than if you try to drive into the city. The decor in the lobby and the room was very nice we thought. We never experienced any problems. We didn't use it,but the fact that there is a bar helps if you really need a drink after all the walking all day. There was a nice deli & store downstairs which helps a lot if ya need a snack. The only thing I didn't like....don't drink the bottle of aquafina in your room. It's $3.50 and they will charge you. The breakfast is not worth the money at all,so we waited til we got down into the city.

I have stayed at this location before because of its location. It has convenient access to the METRO and there are numerous restaurants within walking distance. There is a restaurant on site that offers a wide variety, is pretty good and not too expensive. Parking is expensive at $20 per day and internet access is also expensive, I believe it was $12.95 per day. The hotel lobby is beautiful and the staff is very friendly. The rooms are getting very tired and need to be updated. The tiles on the bathroom floor were cracked, wallpaper was peeling by the windows and the furniture was old and scratched. I did receive a good price from Priceline and like I said, I stay here because of the location.

The Hyatt Regency at Metro Center is considered a jewel in the crown that is beautiful Bethesda. You couldn't ask for a better location! And when you arrive this building is certainly impressive and imposing. The lobby is extravagant. The interior is lined with rooms that face the lobby, courtyard style. The checkin is efficient enough. At least one door person was ultra friendly. When you get on the glass elevators its like you are being whisked to the heavens. But when you open your guestroom door, the magic fades. Oh its a nice room. The bed is comfy. The bathroom spacious. But when you look closer you see the cracks in the marble, the stains on the floor. There's just no WOW! Maybe because our toom looked out onto a diryy roofyop, we didn't even get to gaze out at beautiful Bethesda. Come here when you are on business or when you need to be doentown. Otherwise there are better hotels at better prices.

i spent a week and the price was really right. All the staff were friendly in a very nice way. My only complaint is being charged for WiFi (I mean, puleeze) and housekeeping could improve. The bathroom grout was filthy. Otherwise, all my needs were met, the downstairs bartender poured a generous glassful and the metra station for all things to do and see is right out the front door.

Room Tip: In room movies were $18.00.

The location of the hotel was fantastic.

Room and hotel in dire need of updating and cleaning .

Staff was mediocre at best . No what I expect from a Hyatt . I will choose another hotel next time I visit .

The cost is reasonable, but manage your expectations. The facilities are poor. No laundry service. Breakfast and internet are not included. There is no safe or minibar in the room. Much of the room is taken up by an outdated entertainment cabinet. The quality of the room is below average. Internet was so poor, the staff removed the internet charges (likely a common complaint). Double check your bill, because I was overcharged for breakfast almost every day. They corrected the bill with no problem. On the other hand, the staff are friendly. Room service is good. The lobby is beautiful. The location is great. I would stay there again.

This Hyatt is downtown Bethesda and you can walk to all the restaurants and shops. Across the street is a metro stop so getting to Washington DC is easy. The property is not up to usual Hyatt hotel standards, but the rate that I got was very reasonable and much less than you would have to pay in other Hyatt hotels so I was OK with overlooking some of the characteristics of the hotel. The room was very standard corporate room. Where you can tell the the niceness of the hotel is the bathroom and this bathroom was average (cheap tile, worn grout, low end shower head) but it was clean. My biggest complaint would be the training of the front desk staff. I got a key to the business center, but they could never get it to work. Every single time I had to go to the lobby to get it reprogrammed. Once I even went to the lobby before going up to the center and it still did not work. We had the same problem with the room keys. Part of my benefits is to get a newspaper delivered to the room in the morning. I had two rooms and the other room got the paper. When I asked about the other paper the front desk person lied and said that no papers were delivered that day. The business lounge what just a room with computers and drinks and yogurt. They only had Pepsi. It was probably the worst business lounge that I have ever seen. The hotel has a gym and a pool. The gym is cramped and divided into three areas around the old pool. The equipment was good and in order. I had breakfast at the hotel one morning, but did not go back. It was over the Thanksgiving Holidays and the staff was overwhelmed with the crowds and they kept running out of coffee and other items. It is probably better during the week. There is a Daily Grill restaurant at the hotel too. The hotel is pretty noisy, because it is "atrium style" and all the rooms can hear the noise from the lobby. One night there was a teen party at the property and it was very noisy. Other nights it was more quiet. Over all if you are traveling on business I would look elsewhere. If you are traveling with family and need a reasonable rate, but are willing to not have any luxuries this property is OK.
