“Clean and Convenient”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

When I traveled to DC recently to pick up a daughter at a conference, I searched for hotels in the DC area; hoping to be close to Georgetown. I was amazed at the difference in the cost to stay OUTSIDE of DC in a neighboring suburb. The Doubletree Hotel in Bethesda did the trick! AND you get warm chocolate chip cookies when you arrive! Though we were about 15 minutes outside of the City, it was a straightforward commute. The hotel staff was gracious and very helpful - from the desk clerk to the valet staff. Our room was very clean and the beds were VERY comfy. The hotel is walking distance to a great assortment of restaurants for any meal; of course, there is a Starbucks within the hotel, but also within about a 3 block walk. Great area, very convenient and I would stay here again.

Hospitality fine. Rooms attractive, comfortable and clean.

But the Wi-Fi is so abominably slow that I am considering changing hotels on the first night of a five-day trip. And the service has "blips" in it that cause letters to be left out as I type.

Maddening!

I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks, and in that time, my sheets were never changed, floor never vacuumed, and furnishings never wiped clean. Dirty glasses and room service dishes were often left in the room for a couple days. The only consistent thing was a made bed and clean towels. The walls and ceilings of this hotel are also very thin; I could hear everything going on above me, even the slightest sound. I stayed at this hotel due to its proximity to the NIH and the shuttle that runs to the NIH from the hotel. However, there were several days when the shuttle wouldn't show up for an extra 30-40 minutes than usual for no apparent reason.

Lovely hotel and staff! From the first greeting of the valet to the last good-by and we hope you come again from Sally, my husband and I enjoyed the hotel and its amenities. If you are searching for a great hotel within walking distance of the Woodmont Shopping area for a 1 night or extended stay at a resonsable rate, I would suggest the Doubletree Bethesda. Our room, 1102 didn't have the greatest veiw of the city, but the rooms were very comfortable and clean. The decor in the lobby was comfy, colorful and friendly. I personally loved sitting in the Blueish/Green/Grey high backed Sofa in the lobby. We wish we would have had time to jump in to the inviting roof top pool. We'll make a point of it next time.

Everything about the hotel was great. Clean room, comfy bed, desk. Meetings were in same hotel. Also it was easy to walk to restaurants and drug store. Own restaurant was a good option also. Love the fresh cookies available at the desk.

Everything about this hotel was easy and wonderful. Location was great - a few blocks from the downtown Bethesda metro - easy walk to fabulous hotels. Check in was very easy and the room was clean and neat. Love the touch of the air purifier in the room. Would definitely recommend it!

i had family come to visit and the hotel itself is very nice. the pool on sundays apparently has private themed pool parties for non guests. my brother and wife went to sit on a table and were told "these tables are reserved for bottle service" come on, you are spending a good chunk of change and are told this? his kids are 10 and 12 and really wanted to swim after a ling day in DC. the problem is that at the time was rap music with explicit lyrics about shooting, smoking pot, and graphic sex. he of course had to get his kids out of there. not fair at all. amazing that a manager of a hilton owned property would let this happen.

Room Tip: the rooms are nice. don't think it matters.

Green Features: everything seems nice and very clean without the smell of harsh chemicals so it seems to be done right.
