“Good Sushi Without Paying and Arm and Leg!”

Matuba has been around for decades, but they still do it right. Family owned, they are one of the few sushi restaurants with actual Japanese sushi chefs!

The sushi and sashi are quite good and fairly priced, and the other Japanese dishes are also very good. Their tempura is authentic and tasty, and their salad is dressed with house-made authentic dressing (and really good).

The staff and owners are very friendly, and the ambiance, while not fancy, is fine for couples, friends or family.

Parking can be tricky. Use one of the parking garages as street parking is iffy and expensive, if you make a mistake!

“It was ok but I wouldn't go back!”

We did the weekend dinner buffet..was not impressed. It felt like we were walking to the basement to be seated, we had to keep asking the sushi chef to make more! Taste wise food was good but overall exprience was poor! Will not go back!

“Put down your laptop and try the rotary buffet”

I hesitated writing this one because didn't want to share my guilty pleasure of Matubas rotary buffet. You won't get a lot of the fancier rolls especially on the lunch one but what you get is all you can eat not priced per plate color and really good tasting sushi. He prepares it in front of you. Staff is very nice. It's a fun date too.

“Decent Lunch Spot”

Dropped in for lunch, ordered the Sushi Lunch plus edamame and tempura shrimp. Miso soup was good as was all the food. Sushi was well prepared and tasty. Decor is a bit worn and tired. All in all a good lunch was had.
