“Something for everyone”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

This is the first Mon Ami Gabi we have been to and we now consider ourselves almost regulars to this French- inspired restaurant. The service is consistently good as well as the food. The staff is helpful with suggestions and it has a great wine list. Good to know is that you're never rushed;; that's a bit of European culture for you!
Atmosphere for a restaurant is always a plus and this one definitely has it. Though fairly large, one can always find a table tucked away, where if you choose, you can have a quiet time. The bar is a nice size and you can sit there with a drink before dinner, if you'd like. There's also in nice weather, outdoor seating in true cafe style.
Call ahead for reservations, otherwise you may have a wait since this is a popular spot for dining in Bethesda.

“Not as great as it could be”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

We hoped for a real taste of Paris here, but it was not to be. My classic onion soup was far from classic with its massive glop of unknown cheese sitting atop the huge bowl of just so-so broth in which blobs of soggy bread were immersed. My companion's fish dish was just OK, but bland. The wine and service (thank you, Bryan) were better than the food. This is one of a small chain of MAGs, and needs to get its act together.

“Amazing!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

Great food and awesome service. I think even if the food weren't stellar I'd still return for the great service.
this restaurant is near my office and I went with some co workers for lunch. It feels sort of like an old French Bistro with the decor which I liked. Upon entering you are immediately greeted by the staff and welcomed. My meal was amazing and worth the price. And the service was probably the best I have encountered on any continent. A must try if you are in Bethesda.

“Hidden secret: Happy Hour!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

Mon Ami Gabi offers an excellent value and quality Happy Hour in the bar area, weekdays late afternoon. There's a fine short $5 food menu (My wife and I loved sharing the country pate and the cheeseburger) and wine is half-price (@$4/glass or $16/bottle). Enjoy the ambience, have a light dinner with someone lovely, and get away for $35!

“Good every time I go”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

This is an excellent restaurant. The french onion soup is always good and the steak frites (three different versions among us) was also excellent. The house pinot noir was surprisingly good as well. Service was competent but not outstanding. The desserts (we tried the creme brulee, chocolate mousse and bread pudding) were average.
