“Great tapas!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2014

Jaleo is Jose Andres' Bethesda restaurant. It maintains his high standards, without being as expensive as his DC/Las Vegas places. Try the vegetable paella, if you can wait for a few minutes to be made for you. Lots of other stuff on the menu is authentic and tastes great!

“Owned by Jose Andres, what can I say?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2014 credit card Amex Card Member Review

The owner of this restaurant is a world renowned chef. He is a close friend of Ferran Adrià of El Bulli fame and a pioneer of "molecular gastronomy". This is a traditional tapas place and everything is good. My favorite is the bacon wrapped dates. They sound disgusting, but are to die for.

“Better than expected”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2014

We walked there from our Bethesda hotel and were seated in 3 minutes on a Thursday evening. The place was mostly full and too noisy but we could still converse. All the dishes were good but the cauliflower was the best. We spent $120 for 4 adults with 3 beers plus tip. We might go back but would probbly try anther place first. The one meat dish was not tender but the flavor was right on.

“Celebrated a Birthday with a Fabulous Meal, Excellent Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2014

We dined here for my father's 70th birthday. We ordered the Chef's Classic Tasting menu for the 6 of us. We enjoyed the croquettes, garlic shrimp, jamon, salt codfish, dates wrapped in bacon, tomato bread, spanish omelet, marinated chicken, olives, cheeses, fried pasta with seafood, goat cheese and red peppers, chocolate mousse, flan and many others that were all wonderfully prepared. The service was top notch- crumbs removed unobtrusively, waters refilled, wine glasses refreshed without need to request. We cannot wait to enjoy another meal here.
