“Pricey but very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

I love this restaurant. It's best to go with several people so you can sample more things. When they have some of their seasonal Spanish hams, you must, must order a dish!

“We liked it”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2013

My wife and teen age son visited Jaleo for some tapas. We arrived in the middle of a weekday so it wasn't busy. We each ordered two small plates, including shrimp, salmon, spinach, mushroom and potato, and bread w/ tomato. We liked everything, especially the mushroom and puree potato dish (we ordered a second helping). We also had Sangria. We also had the Chocolate Flan and Rice Pudding desserts; liked the flan best but it was small. The service was great and the atmosphere was pleasant. The bill was about $112 for three of us, which seemed a bit high but probably not unusual. We would certainly return.

“Jaleo - difficult to pronounce but one very fun place to eat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013

Jaleo sits in downtown Bethesda, MD and it is one terrific place for dinner.
Ask your waiter about the deals that provide a survey of all the great tapas.
It's about $55 per person - a little pricey perhaps but you will be raving it about it for days.

“Great Tapas”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

It is highly recommended to make reservations to this great place.
The tapas selection is phenomenal and it is a matter just selecting what you want to taste....
the shrimp paella was just ok, nothing exceptional
the wine selection is extensive and a little pricey

finally, if you drive there be ready....parking is very difficult

“Same Menu and Every Bit as Good as Downtown”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

These are the best tapas I've had outside of Spain, and are better than many I have had in Spain. Two of my favorites are chorizo in crisp potato nests and bacalao served cold in a salad with olives, peppers, tomato, and other stuff. (Those aren't their names or descriptions for the dishes, but they'll get you where you want to go on the menu.) Jaleo is expensive but worth it. It also has a very varied wine list with many selections of Spanish wines you won't find elsewhere.
