The park has a great playground and a train that travels around the park. Best for very young children

“Great local park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

What's not to like? Plenty of equipment and room at the playground. Nice dirt trails through the woods. There's even a train ride during seasonable weather.

“Great playground”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

We stopped here for a picnic lunch and to let the kids stretch their legs in the middle of a 5 hour road trip. We only visited a small area of the park, namely the playground area, and it was fantastic. There were several different play areas suited to children of all different ages and capabilities. The playground equipment was also different from the usual swing sets and ordinary slide/claiming features, though these were here too. The playground area is also nicely shaded and there were picnic tables to sit at. The different play areas are spread out a bit, which makes it a bit hard to keep track of multiple children, but also makes it fun for them to travel to each different area. We spent about an hour or so here and during that time, not one but two different ice cream trucks cam through. Naturally the kids liked it, but its a bit annoying for parents sometimes, so just be aware of this possibility when you visit so you can be prepared to either have cash or not!

“Good Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

It's a park. Not supposed to be fancy - just a nice wooded space for kids to run around. There's plenty of play structures for big and little kids alike, picnic spaces for the family, and the Miniature Train ride.

To the last point: it's fun, but it gets crowded. Check the park website for operating times, and try and go early.

“Let's play!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013 via mobile

As the weather starts to warm up this is one of our go to places on the weekend. The playground has equipment suitable for toddlers as well as bigger kids. 3 slides, swing sets, a giant spinning wheel and numerous climbing areas. Plus the kids all seem drawn to the pile of wood chips!

There are benches throughout along with picnic tables and restrooms. If you walk away from the main play area you will find the train. That is always a highlight of a visit to the park! Tickets can be purchased at the station for a delightful ride through the park. (Note that during Oct they have a special Halloween train which is lots of fun!)

There is a party room available for rental, which is great for kid parties. All in, this is great place to spend a few hours.
