“Perfect Neighborhood Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2013

We like to support neighborhood establishments. Found this quaint restaurant advertising a lot on Groupon and Living Social and assumed that this place "doest protest too much". I gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised! LOVE the daily menu changes based on the fresh fish the buy that day. I said FRESH FISH!!!! Yea! Prices are very reasonable. Husband and wife duo that stay behind the scenes and just provide their absolute best for their customers. Desserts are fantastic also. Give it a try! Well worth it! Love their marketing efforts offering an affordable, quality, fresh and tasty meal!

“A Mediocre Restaurant”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

Using a discount program coupon, we made reservations and visited Chef Tony's on a very busy Friday evening. We were seated in a table for 2 beside the front door, so along with the other tables in our area, we experienced the cold wind of March everytime the door opened. We were greeted by our cheery waiter, who tried hard to keep up with his tables, but the service was sloppy and enept. No water, tableware, missed coffee and waiting too long for check were a few problems we, along with others experienced. We had two entress, trout and sole accompanied by overcooked cold vegtables and potates. The sole tased as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp, the trout was fine. The desserts were delicious - the sweet potatoe pie and cheesecake. However, the restaurant did it's best to handle the sold out evening but the service was poor. For that reason, I would not recommend the restaurant.

“Among best restaurant food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

This was our third visit to Chef Tony's, a terrific value when one buys a LivingSocial coupon: $40 for 2 on their fixed price menu whose regular price is $80. Even at $80, the food is worth the price. The menu allows 3 choices: an appetizer/salad/soup, a main course, and dessert. The food during this visit was superb and each course a generous serving. For starters, we shared the yummy calamari and a fantastic warm spinach salad (with warm bacon dressing, pecans, a bit of blu cheese and strawberry slices for garnish and a pleasant added taste). We both had the seared shrimp with spaghettini (marvelous creamy tomato sauce: we asked for non-spicy and got it). While there were only 4 shrimp on a plate, they were large; the pasta was extra good with slices of thick tomato (no seeds). Desserts were warm bread pudding (very good) and sweet potato (called "pie" but with no crust) and butter pecan ice cream - delicious. If we lived closer, we would eat there more often.

But there was a down-side: some tables (ours, this time) were too close together. And that evening the service was sub-standard. We waited 20+ minutes for the calamari to appear - but no beer or salad. After another wait and finishing the calamari, we had to ask for the (shared) salad and beer (all on our initial order). They appeared after more waiting, but at least the main course arrived soon thereafter. Then yet another wait, but: this time our waiter stopped by to say our dessert would be out shortly. After 5-6 minutes, he stopped again to say the same thing. A little more waiting and dessert arrived.

I admit that they were busy with all tables fully occupied (6:30-7:00) - but they seemed to have plenty of waiters and servers working. We noted that at least some patrons received better service. Decor is pleasant, and there was no loud music to hinder conversation. Based on better service during 2 previous visits (all on Sunday evenings), and the terrific food, we will certainly return.

“A great neighborhood restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

I like to cook at home and when i go out, i want something that tastes better than what i can do. Tony's kitchen offers the most tantalizing flavors and dishes. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service was excellent and the overall dining experience was fantastic! Thank you Tony.

“Great value, great service!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

We have eaten at Chef Tony's several times and it is always great. Chef pride's himself on using the freshest ingredients from local sources. His menu features many kinds of seafood, prepared to enhance the flavors of each fish. The portion sizes are large, the service is friendly and warm and they often have prix fixe menus at prices that can't be beat. The wine list is not large, but there are some very good values. You will not break the bank coming here, and your tastebuds will not be disappointed either. Chef Tony is usually on premises and even offered to put money in our meter when it was snowing and we had run out of quarters. The extra touches are what make customers return to a restaurant--not only the food. I think you'll really enjoy your experience here.
