“2nd Visit and still Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

We had dinner here on Saturday. It was bustling. Our waiter was a lovely young man and make us feel very welcome. We are hummus fans and the plain here is delicious, with piping hot pita. You might try poking a few holes in pita with a fork to let the steam escape. We both had a mixed kabob - chicken, lamb and kafta (pressed lamb/beef). Served with yummy rice and grilled veggies, the chicken is probably the most succulent you'll find anywhere in the DC area and the Kafta is tasty and nicely spiced. The lamb was a little tough but still good. The portions are very generous and we had enough to take home for lunch the next day. It tasted as good if not better! The decor is very relaxing. It boasts a assortment of attractive lanterns placed on shelves separating the dining room sections. Very nice idea and I'd love to get my hands on a couple of the lanterns. All in all, an excellent meal. Thank you.

“Wonderful introductionI to Lebanese food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013 via mobile

Not familiar with most of the items on the menu, I tried the Chef's Platter. It was a great choice for
me, allowing me to sample nine different Items.
Their flatbread was excellent. The Chefs Platter and flatbread were more than enough. The price, at $14, was very reasonable.

They also own the original Lebanese Taverna in Arlington, VA.which my daughter has highly recommended.

“Had the best meal of appetizers many gluten free”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

After a play in Bethesda we walked over to the Taverna for an early dinner.Shared 6 different appetizers along with salads. The restaurant is beautiful insides and huge.Service was excellent.Had a hummous appetizer with 3 types of hummous and 3 different toppings along with grape leaves, lamb sausages and a few other treats. The menu has gluten free items marked and there were a bunch.Prices were really fair incl $11 for the three hummous appetizer which was more than enough for lunch. This place is only a block from the Bethesda Cinema and 3 blocks from the writers center theater so give it a try if your are in the area.

“You know you hit the Jack Pot when you're at a Lebanese restaraunt and it's filled with Lebanses diners.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

Was visiiting family in the area and we were wow'ed when we walked into the Taverna. Beautifully decorated with modern and Lebanese design elements. Large variethy of food to choose from and we each ordered many different items. Everything was delicious. No complaints there. The placed was filled with many Lebanse families which says alot for the food. However service was a bit slow.
