“Great burgers and shakes - overpriced but really fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2012

Like everything in Bethesda, the food here is overpriced. A burger costs a fortune and fries and rings are extra. That said, GO anyway! The decor and music is fun, the staff is great, the food is well worth the short wait. The milkshakes are fantastic and the cheeseburgers and onion rings are wonderful. We don't go often, but we always enjoy it when we do.

Oddly, they once ran out of vanilla ice cream on a Thursday evening and 6 people had to settle for chocolate milkshakes or do without. How does a burger and shake joint run OUT of vanilla ice cream? Luckily, the choclate milkshakes were great, too.

“Best Burgers in Bethesda”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2012

If you are a burger aficionado, this is a must try. Big, juicy, and large variety of specialty burgers and toppings. I'm a purest, so it is always plain or with cheese, sautéed onions and mushrooms. Fries aren't have bad either. I think there are turkey and lobster burgers if you like trying alternatives.

“Great Variety”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2011 via mobile

Invited by locals. Was excited by the variety of meat burgers, plus they had a veggie burger. Our group had a lamb, ahi tuna, turkey, and beef burgers. We all ate every bite. Multiple comments on how fresh and high quality the toppings were. Fries with parmesan were great. Grilled asparagus delicious. Stella on tap.

“Gourmet burgers...and not just...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2011

Try the lamb burger or the lobster roll. This place is great. It will remind you of Ray's Hellburger in VA, but not as crowded.

“Deserving of Attention”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2011

I've been to BGR a few times and have gotten very good burgers each time. It's loud inside (which is sometimes good), but outside seating is peaceful even right near downtown Bethesda. Inside, there are old album posters lining the wall. This place is good for anyone who loves '80s music! The burgers are juicy and delicious. The lobster roll, though a little expensive for a fast restaurant like BGR, is very good too. Also, they sell Cheerwine, which, as anyone from the South knows, is great... but very hard to find in Maryland. Overall, it's a good experience and relatively fast. The people are friendly. I would definitely recommend it.
