I have been going to the Tower for years and wanted to give a good review of where the place has gone and if it is worth spending your time and money.
First, they have a rooftop deck that is a great time for a drink as long as it is not middle of summer as you will get burned up! On the roof you will normally find Fox bartending/serving... she is great and really cares about making your experience right! The front bar is ok as long as you don't take kids in anymore. The bar has been taken over mostly by an older crowd that talk as they want and the language can be a bit harsh and loud. But once again most of the time you will find Matt bartending who is also a great guy! Then you have the back bar that was a quiet small bar that was seperate from the dinning room. Well that has changed with the wall removed to make the area bigger for evening bar crowds. So now if you want to have a nice dinner in the dining room you might be interupted by a band or DJ setting up and also the folks in the bar that can get loud since they are in a bar.
So as you notice I mostly note their bars, which is what they seem to be concerned with mostly. I feel that the top priority for the manager is the bar and nothing else. This has severely hurt the food quality as it is not consistent any more. BUT... if you want a guarenteed good item for dinner there are a couple of items that are always good no matter who is cooking... The Chicken Parm and the Crab Cake are some of their top items. A new item is the Crab Bowl that is fantastic!!! Outside of those items it is a crap shoot.
So if you are looking for a local place that is average then go here... in Bel Air it is outside of the chain world and is pretty good. However, for a nice quiet romantic dinner I would find somewhere else.
