“Great atmosphere-good food-good service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2012

We visited the lounge downstairs downstairs in the inn.The motif is that of a ship-quite comfy with a fireplace.During the winter they have a happy hour from 4pm - 6-pm.They put out different foods including desserts. The food is free and the drinks are good.

On a separate occation we ate in the lounge and the LObster pizza was to die for.

If you are in the arae try this place.Happy hour may not be available in the summer.

“Great comfortable dining - generous and tasty.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2011

After a day of Black Friday shopping in the Kittery ME area, we headed over to the York Harbor Inn for a late night bite. Entering through the hotel, we were directed to the "Ships Cellar Pub" - a very creatively decorated bar that serves the full menu until about 9:30 followed by a limited late night menu. There is an entrance off Route 1A - takes you right to the Pub. The entire pub is designed to look like the cargo of an old sailing ship - very creative. It has the feeling of a 200 year old Inn, but is clean and well maintained.

We enjoyed one of the house specialty drinks ($8.50), the Lobster & Corn Chowder ($8) and the Vegetarian Burger with Fries ($8). Drink was served in a full 16 ounce glass with proper ratio of alcohol - made it worth the steep price.

The Lobster and Corn Chowder was simply a delight. I give it a personal A+ rating, this coming from a non-seafood eater. Really - I hate seafood, and this chowder made me a believer. It has tender chunks of lobster, fresh corn and a tasty creamy broth. Comes with a basket of bread. - This is a winner.

The Vegetarian Burger is a burger looking creation made of their own bean and veggie compote - forget what you think about frozen Boca burgers. This is a treat. On a fresh roll, served with a garlic spread, this is a filling meal. I love veggie burgers - its not a substitute for hamburger to me, I love burgers too, but choose this as a fine selection when possible.

Give them a try - you will be pleased

“Good food, nice ambience - poor service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2011

This is a very stylish place to eat and the food is good. There was live music as well the night we went. Pity about the poor service - surly waiter.
