“Save room for dessert!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

Fox's does provide some of the best views in York but it also is dependable to get a good meal. The haddock is always good, but my favorite is the lobster mac and cheese. There are huge hunks of lobster, so you're not picking around to find just a few bits. Desserts are homemade and the best though--whether it's the very special banana cream pie or the ice creams. Oh, and then there's a molten lava cake or the standard blueberry pie with ice cream. I'll admit that I usually first ask what they've made for dessert before ordering dinner.

Our waitress was terrific, by the way, and she wasn't even one of the ones who have been there for many years.

“Good food, but overpriced!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

We had dinner (inside) on our most recent trip (have eaten outside many times before). The food was good, and we had a great view of Nubble Light, however the prices are sky high (we had just come from Bar Harbor and it was cheaper up there). I think we'll stick to the takeout window!

“Great Lobster and nice views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

We went to see the area local historical Nubble lighthouse park and found Fox's Lobster House was right next door. We explored the lighthouse grounds and the rocks by the beach. We decided to try Fox's for dinner and got a table by the window to watch the lovely sunset. The Clam Chowder and the Lobster bisque were both very good. The menu is mostly about all things Lobster - which is fresh and nicely prepared anyway you like it. Prices were a bit better than in town. We liked that the restaurant is out of the way - you need a car to get there - parking was easy at the Lighthouse (it is a nightmare in town) and we did not wait too long for a great table with lovely views. Our waiter was very very nice, attentive and from the local area. He gave us some great tips on other stops to make and places to try. Overall a nice Maine local experience.

“Tourist trap! Save your money!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2014

This place has a great view but that's it. The foods not bad, but not worth the sky high prices. What's the worst is the seasonal help the owner brings in to save money. The kids she hires just don't care about the customer. Save your money and go to ogunquit or wells.

“Lobster Yummy !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2014 via mobile

We had a great meal from lobster to bisque. My husband did order surf and turf and the steak was horrible but what would you expect from a lobster house. We would go back but not for steak. LOL.
