My idea of a zoo is giraffes, elephants, hippos, rhinos etc. So if that's your kind of zoo too then you've come to the wrong place. While they do have some interesting animals they were nothing out of the ordinary. I suppose young children think its great but for 6 adults and a baby (we only really went for the baby's sake) it was nothing spectacular.
The concessions were absolutely ridiculous and the staff in them were equally as ridiculous. We waited about 20 minutes for "super" nachos in which everything for them is already a pre-made, read to go item. It also took the girl at the pick-up window about 10 minutes to put covers onto four soft drinks! She might as well have stayed in bed that day because that's about as lively as she was going to get!
The bathroom situation was absurd as well. Three stalls in any of the bathrooms with crowds that day (Aug 4th) in the thousands I'm guessing....very frustrating to say the least!
We only did the zoo portion and decided to skip the rides (I'm thankful for this) which were only carnival, kiddie rides at best.
I suppose if you have young children they would have a great time here, but for adults it's just a cheesy animal park with fair rides. If you're out and about in York I guarantee there are plenty of things to do that are far better than this.
