“Excellent breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

We had breakfast at Ships Chow Hall on both mornings of our recent stay in the area. There aren't a lot of other breakfast places in the area and we read a good review of Ships, so we decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We were welcomed immediately when we walked in and were seated at the one empty table. Our waitress was very friendly, the restaurant was clean and they had a good selection of items. They make all of their own bread and it is AMAZING, so be sure to order something that comes with toast. They had several varieties, all made with honey and water rather than sugar and milk. My husband was ready to order 8 sides of toast to go, it was so good. We were remembered when we went back the second day, too, which was nice, especially since they were very busy. I'd highly recommend you give this place a try for breakfast or lunch.

“No Mary Kitchen hash here.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

This is a solid, no-frills, no-everlasting memory kind of place because the menu is straightforward with no modern twists or seasonings. However, if you have strong feelings that good, homemade corned beef hash is a measure of a breakfast you won't be disappointed. Long strings of corned beef, the right mix of meat, onions and potatoes, a little char on the meat. Perfect. The oatmeal is the real deal. No one minute or instant Quaker Oats. It is composed of distinct, large flakes which haven't been overcooked.

The service was outstanding. Who cares what the outside looks like. The inside is clean, the food is done correctly and the price reasonable.

“Rough Diamond”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2012 via mobile

Don't be fooled by appearances. My wife and I stopped here for breakfast on our way through the area and it was DELICIOUS!! Great home-cooked breakfast. The food was not excessively greasy like some breakfasts tend to be (eggs, bacon, home fries, etc.). It tasted like my wife had cooked it in our kitchen. The wait was a little long, but only because there was one waitress handling the entire floor. However, the quality of the food is worth the wait. Prices are very reasonable, I've paid much more for a breakfast that wasn't nearly as tasty. We were skeptical at first (the outside looks a little rough), but definitely pleased that we stopped. After eating here, the outside appearance actually seems to add to the charm. Will definitely stop again when in the area. Highly recommended.

“Great breakfast -the best service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2012

We stopp at Ship's for breakfast everytime we are in the area. The service is the best. The people working there have been there as long as we have been going there. The fresh fruit crepe is the best.
